Yes... that's the one we boat on. It's called the Caloosahatchee, named after the Caloosa Indians from this area. It is quite big and connects Cape Coral to Fort Myers with three bridges.
It goes up into the Okeechobee Lake and then from canals all the way to the east coast. It's quite a trip if you take it, and many do.

Wish I had more time to take pics, but the guy sitting next to us in the car was from NH and saw our plates. We had quite a conversation. Young guy and quite a conservative..lol.

Yes.. it's a nice place to spend the winter for sure. I do love this west coast and CC.
Lots of people are still homeless here. I will have to take the time to go to Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte. They showed pics on the TV tonight and it is still an unbelievable mess.
In fact the woman that helped us with our window coverings is out of her home still. She is living in another house while they do hers completely over. The mold distroyed everthing.

This Louie a sweet cat who died of stomach Cancer, but he was thrown out with the litter because he was not pure. All the kittens were stuff in an old paint can left for garbage P/u until they were rescued and I nursed him with a baby bottle until he could eat.(1993-2000)

That is the most ragtag cat I have ever seen. LOL I've never heard of feeding a cat with a bottle, really. I'm sure your early nurturing made you really close throughout the years.
