At least she wasn't holding a staple gun.

Well, thank god for small favors!

Ahhhhhh.

Context helps.

But if I owned a gun, knowing what I think I remember about laundromats...........

I would have sat on a machine and told anyone who walked in to make my day.

LOL!
True!

But she sure did look mighty fascinated by the print on the fabric.

Looked like rabbit paw prints for some reason..
What can I say?
Tehy were the only things that fit comfortably.
(She didn't get a chance to find the 'g-string' that was bought as a joke. I sometimes wonder mightily about people and the things they buy as 'jokes'.)

My husband didn't want me to go! He was worried about me. I'll tell you, I was a little nervous. I don't think it was as bad as it could have been, because my town doesn't really have any "bad neighborhoods", but still, getting panhandled didn't make me feel too great. I hate laundromats.

No, I don't have any spare change. I'm using every last damn quarter for the dryers. Beat it, pal.

I don't blame him.

Not sure what I'd do if this happened....

Doh!.......LL's sister lives a half mile away.

That does help........

Hubby's going to try to get the part tomorrow, he's making it a priority to get it fixed. If he can't fix it, we'll buy a used one somewhere. I explained in an earlier post that we plan to put in a gas line and install a new gas dryer, but it's not done yet, and it will take a little time to accomplish. In the meantime, I really need to be able to dry my laundry. I really thought the washer would go before the dryer did. I don't know how old the units are; they were here with the house when we bought it. They are Sears Kenmore, and I just figured I run them till they quit, and then buy some nice higher end units to replace them.

No, no gas. We put a gas line in last winter for the range - replaced the hideous cooktop with a nice high-end GE range, and I just love it. I looked at the Vikings and Wolf ranges and others, but they were really way too much money, but I'm pretty happy with the GE profile range. Does everything I need it to do, and then some. Very nice and sleek looking too, stainless steel finish. Should have had the gas line for the dryer done at the same time. Hind sight, and all that.

We figure it doesn't take too many years to pay for a new dryer if you're switching from electric to gas.

Not to mention the laundromat could drive you to need private sessions with a therapist........

Oh, the joys of homeownership.
***
Isn't that the truth?

I'm still trying to sell Mrs.L the benefits of moving to NE Texas and living in a gorgeous facility which offers two squares a day, daily maid service, laundry service as needed, fifty cable channels, no insurance, no property taxes, no utility bills, local phone service, for the princely price of $1400/month.

I'm almost afraid to ask how it came about that you had not one, but TWO strangers fondling your underwear.

I just hope he was in them.

"I just hope he was in them."

LOL! Are you sure that was what you intended to say?

We're not too worried about the cost - I've been ready to buy new appliances, it's just getting the work done on the gas line. We've got other projects going, and I was in the "let's finish this up before we start something else" mode. I just hope that it's the thermostat that's the problem and I can buy a little time, and get the gas line installed. Always something, isn't it?

$1,400 a month, and all those services? Sounds good to me. Living in the SF Bay area as we do, we have a massive mortgage, and property taxes to match. I'm still working on hubby, trying to convince him that it might not be a bad idea to move to a less costly area once he retires. That is still quite a number of years away, not even close really, but I've got to start planting the seed. He seems to think that there is nowhere else on the face of the earth to live besides the bay area. Having lived many other places myself, I would beg to differ.

You're right, he's wrong.

What can I say?

Good luck with it, Cheri.

You live in a beautiful place, but my word, are you ever paying for it!

Have you ever seen the movie Babie Boom?
