Why not just take it and inject it directly into an artery. sheesh! I don't think I consume that many calories in an average day!

The renaming of rural roads began long before 9/11. It is a 911 emergency necessity that all rural areas paid for to have the service. I mean, we have gone past the days of saying "go past the Jarboe place and take a right at the big Oak tree".

***

Correct. They can spot you immediately.

From whatever agency, for whatever purpose.

Yes, indeed, they sure spotted my cousin in rural Kentucky fast enough when he collapsed and could just barely lift the phone. He suffered a major myocardial infarction but survived because the ambulance arrived in a matter of minutes.

I'm sure that if a government agency wanted to find him, they could just ask at the courthouse square for directions to his place.

Geez, have you always been so paranoid?

Have you been to a theme park lately? Their searches and security for season ticket holders would make airports look amateurish. LOL

Nope. I figure I don't need to be anywhere I am going to be pawed. I hate crowds anyway.

I know you hate crowds. But, it is a new reality we live in since 9/11 and we must deal with it.

I fought the good battle against mundane laws that took our liberties...and lost. But, this is too important for us to trivialize with rants of freedoms lost. I want my grandchildren to live and not be killed by terrorists.

Sorry, but I don't consider getting groped an "inconvenience". There really is a lot of disagreement on this topic. I only fly when I absolutely have to, because strip-searching little old ladies like my mother doesn't help keep us safe.

I've really come to hate flying. I only fly when I absolutely can't avoid it. I did fly to Idaho last summer when my mother had surgery - it's an 11 hour drive, and my back can't take it anymore. last time I drove to Idaho and back, I was bedridden with pain killers and muscle relaxers for 3 days.

Amen.

The Lord is in His Heaven,
and we are just down here wandering around like blind geese.

"I want my grandchildren to live and not be killed by terrorists."

So do I, except I don't feel very confident in the future they're living for. This isn't the country my ancestors fought and died for. I mean in no way to minimize the courage or honor of those who fight now. Temporary restraints are one thing. This is looking more and more like a permanent condition We are watching the lifeblood og our liberty run down the jaws of a ravenous beast with an insatiable lust for power. America without freedom, well, isn't America at all, just a country that calls itself the United States.

I've never been groped. Not once. Not even close. Take my shoes off voluntarily at the airport screening. Which to me is simply no inconvenience.

I came closer being groped (by female officer) when going into a courthouse with my kid for a fender bender she was in. Actually, she patted down my coat which I was holding in my arms as I recall. Still, I understood their reasons for security.

Inappropriate touching is another matter. But it has not been my experience.

Hmmmm.....

I'm missing something here. You make it sound like we should let these folks just take over our planes just for some kind of mythical freedoms we've lost because we get searched?

splain please.......

Groping is simply an aberration, if it's actually happened, IMHO.

I like to fly, yes, I liked it before 911 better because it was easier.....but good grief, I don't see a problem, and don't see this as some kind of freedom taken away because I want "security"....

I just don't want the damn plane I'm flying on to be hijacked and flown into a building while I'm in it.
