Frodo says the name "Smeagol" and causes Gollum to remember his name.... That would have been a much better place to stick in the flashback to the Deagol fight.

Oh, for a film editor to hear those words....

By "werewolf-like metamorphosis" I was referring not to the dual personalities scene, but rather to the Smeagol/Deagol flashback in ROTK, where they morph Serkis into Gollum in a montage of steps.

Seeing him devolve over 500 years was kind of like watching the evening TV shows - they're disgusting, but you can't tear your eyes away....

I can ;~D

I am looking forward to the EE.... On each of the films, after the EE, there is no comparison to the theatrical.

Good morning HHDs!

Steve sat and talked to me last night!

Why is this a big deal? Because these are the final weeks of this semester and I'm lucky to even get to see him in more than just passing!

He told me he talked to a guy at school that works in the office (I didn't ask what office...didn't think it would make any difference) and he said the guy had rebuilt a VW Bug and was in the process of rebuilding another one! He said he also saw a guy on campus that drove a '74 Bug. I asked him how he knew it was a '74 and he said "I asked him." :-O

So it seems that my enthusiasm for getting a Bug is shared by Steve...a good thing, if you recall how he felt about the pennywhistle idea. LOL

The thought of being able to repair it himself is appealing to him...he can repair things on the truck, but not the van and it costs us a fortune every time we have to put it in the shop.

Bugs are supposedly extremely easy to fix.

If I could chop the movie up the way I'd like...

Well, he probably thinks it's safe to assume you'll only want one car...

Plus he won't have to suffer thru er, get the pleasure of watching you learn to drive the car.

;-)

Yes, and no.... they aren't complicated engines, but they are stuffed upside-down into the back of a pretty small access point, and you have to pull the engine to change a spark plug ;~D

But except for that ;~D

Same mind, here...

The little added things on Fellowship were much better! I don't regret having only the theater release of ROTK - it's better than niothing at all!

Although, I think it's a little much for a 7yo to see, yet. He can handle Fellowship and TTT, but not this one yet...

Well, it's not like you've missed your shot at the Extended RoTK yet... Certainly you aren't saying you won't buy it :~o

We-eee-eeelll, I didn't exactly "buy" the ROTK copy I got, either. It was a door prize at a local event; I just got to be the 100th man in the door!

Well, you seem to have a mighty casual attitude toward such things....

"I'll take a copy if it falls into my lap" is not exactly the acceptable level of excitement around here!

Oh, believe me, I'm hooked! Soon as the EE is out, it's mine.

Deployment kind of messes with your priorities.

Well, you know we've got this great 25'x25' shop...it's got a beam that goes across the ceiling and 10 florescent lights in a drop-down ceiling. It's carpeted on one side, has a big sliding door where you can pull a car in (painted concrete on that side). It's sheetrocked, heated, has AC, a fridge and bed. I used to keep my old Windows 95 HP computer out there.

When OT came to visit, she parked her car in there...it almost feels like your driving into a room in a house!

It's got a ventilation system and a pipe that comes from the garage where you can hook up a air compressor...the guy that lived here before us restored old Mustangs...

I should be ashamed to have to ask...but when exactly DOES the EE come out?

I had this memorized the other times. I'm slipping...

But then, I wasn't broke the other times.
