I'm not blind to the fact that you're spreading pessimism when there's every indication that Bush will win Florida by a sizeable margin, is competitive in New Jersey, of all places, and has a lock on the South. Hawaii looks good, for pete's sake.

Sell your gloom and doom if you can, but I'm not buying.

We see a concerted effort to dampen conservative turnout here at every election. It's nauseating, but predictable.

I don't think the OBL Tape helped either Bush or Kerry but I do think that OBL released the tape in order to help Bush.

Here is Why:

During any type of conflict a force whether it be a nation or terrorist group wants to know who their opponent is and does not want the uncertainty of facing a new leader. Think about during the Cold War when a Soviet leader would die. America would feel a bit more insecurity and the military would go on high alert. I think OBL may be reacting the same way in that he and his movement knows who Bush is and have been able to demonize him. The election of Kerry Nader or even Michael Jackson would cast a shadow of insecurity over the movement and OBL fears that he would lose the little support that he has.

I am not saying that OBL's assessment of the situation is sound but only that is what his position may be.

Not selling a thing. You don't know me from Adam. I have an incredible amount of hope that the president will win. However, my post was based on a good deal of observation this morning, not only polls, but some of the insider info posted on NRO earlier this morning as well. I think the president can win, but it will be a lot tougher than we thought because this nation has indeed changed in the last 30 years. Rush is saying about the same thing this morning in his monologue

if America voted for kerry because of OBL - then this country deserves exactly what it gets.

I was getting tired of appeasing these communists here - time to take them all out!

Oh shut up! No one's going to be moved either way by OBL. Is your real name Chicken Little?

Go find something to do with your free time. We're going to win tomorrow. Take it to the bank.

I have asked myself that for a long time, so please ignore the contentious tone of some replies. Though I am sure it is NOT TRUE, one thing I am completely certain of is this:

the rise to power of women in this country HAS changed our country and our politics, and the rise to power in Moslem countries WILL change Moslem countries and Moslem politics.

VIRGINS UNITE!

at this point all polls are bunk.

This sounds like the typical response of losing campaigns--'the only poll that counts is on election day.' In the past seven days, our numbers have been in meltdown. That doesn't mean we don't work our butts off--I'm running a bunch of precincts on our GOTV effort and will keep plowing on. But frankly, I don't think things look very good right now. We were lucky four years ago. We're going to have to be lucky again.

I think when and if the American electorate hears this story ( BIN LADEN WARNING TO 'RED' STATES... then I think they will overwelmingly vote for Bush.

The fact that many Nervous Nellies are expressing their fears today does not indicate that voters are suddenly shifting to Kerry. It indicates only that some people are not as confident as they wish they were.

Nothing has changed over the past three days. Bush has a solid three point lead in the popular vote which will equate to a significant EC victory tomorrow. The last Democrat to get over 50% of the vote was nearly 30 years ago. Kerry won't break that trend.
