That was pretty funny. I especially liked the touch at the end of the scene where she plucked the grass or leaves from her hair.

Mowing the lawn in a gown and heels. I guess she was able to aerate the lawn while mowing.... Too funny.

That's right--mowing the lawn in an evening dress in the dark--that was pretty good...!

(Cliff Clavin ON)

Civil War-era soldiers on both sides carried an item called a "housewife". It usually contained needles and thread, uniform buttons, and sundry items for personal care and grooming.

I did not see it. I hate reality t.v. shows, they suck, and they're not real. I believe many of those people are coached and alot of "acting" is going on.

I'm even further disgusted by the new show where men dress up as women. Speaking for myself, a woman, I have grown tired of the blatant attack against men, manhood, and masculinity. It's as though pop culture is trying to dismantle men's natural characteristics and turn them all into a bunch of wussy metrosexuals.

Guys need to stand up and fight against this.

That is all. (Done venting)

No, I was tempted to watch it just to see what it was like. Maybe I'll catch it next week.

I am waiting for 24 and The Shield to return. Sheesh - neither one gets back on the air until January or something like that.

Also known as hussif...had to be wool so the lanolin would keep the carbon-steel needles from rusting.

Hah. You tapped a textile enthusiast.

Our local paper mentioned the issue of what's buried under the pool. Apparently, something was buried there a long time ago. But that's all the article said.

Maybe it's money?

I think somehow the single plumber guy is related to finding out what's buried under the pool.

A character on "Cheers" - a barfly who continually bores all comers to tears with meaningless trivia.

I've been thinking about the show since you started the thread. I had been disappointed with it--but now I remember the gal mowing the lawn in the dark in an evening gown, and the poor mom "walking" in the pool in her funeral-black outfit and heels, trying to herd three wet little boys, the threat to nix the Santa Deal (mom desperate for any leverage to survive the day)...

I've decided I'll definitely watch it next week.

I think it had some good moments. I'll watch again.

I hope the mystery part of the plot holds up as well as some of the more humorous moments.

However, I thought it was irresponsible to have the opening scene of the show, which was at 9:00 pm on the west coast, (i.e. still early when children might be watching) be a woman putting a gun to her head and presumably pulling the trigger... I don't really know how the scene ended because my wife and I had to scramble across the room so that our toddler didnt see the scene in question (I ran for the remote, my wife ran for the kid and between the two of us, I don't think he saw anything...) How can the media left be so vocal for gun control, or as they put it "responsible gun ownership" and then show a scene of someone putting a gun up to their temple and killing themselves?

Because it advances the leftist anti-gun agenda to portray "irresponsible gun owners" on primetime TV. Lefists aren't after "Responsible Gun Ownership", they are after the guns.

Everyday in this nation, someone, somewhere uses a firearm to defend themselves from criminals in a lawful manner. Do we here that from Brokaw and Rather? No.

But let disgruntled Joe Schmo blow away several of his co-workers, mainly because their workplace is "Gun-Free"rendering them defenseless, and it gets the "Full Court Press" from the media.

BTW...Welcome to FR.

I hadn't thought about it at the time, but that's the conclusion I came to later. This family with children had a loaded gun in a shoebox in the closet. Why, the gun was just so evil in tempting someone to misuse it to kill themselves or someone else.

Teri Hatcher is the woman who used to play Lois Lane on Lois and Clark, the Superman tv from a few years back. She was also a Bond girl in Tomorrow Never Dies.

I haven't seen the show, but from the descriptions here, it sounds almost Twin Peaks-ish.
