I'm using XP
My problem may be with equipment. My son was here last weekend. Enough said?
I have connection thru Directway (satellite). They sent a new modem so I could install networking. My son installed it (after spending lots of time with their tech dept). Then he installed the network. Everything seemed to be working but on Monday, I started having problems. My son will be here again this weekend. I'll back up important stuff today and tomorrow.

Everything else seems to run normal other than your internet connection? Networking can be a real headache too, so much so that it created a profession in itself. At least it is still running, you can be thankful for that. You do run virus checks, spyware, and your firewall is enabled right?

I do the virus checks and my firewall is enabled. McAfee virus software is enabled to run. I also have Norton but it is set to do a check once a week. I did a manual run with both of them on Monday. Should I also install Panda?
I need to re-install some spyware software. I had spybot but I seem to have lost it. I saw where you recommended adaware to Victoria. I will check that.

Panda, yes. Just make sure you have your stuff backed up before you do ANYTHING though. Adware can be trickey because of all the options it has. The thing to do with that is to run it just how it is reccommended and then go to their help forum and post the entire results of your log file there. Don't delete anything. They will tell you what tweaking you may need to do and if there is a problem, what NOT to delete. Very important you not forget that.
Have fun!

I sent you an email last week asking you to remove a photograph of mine. I would appreciate it taken off of this forum. It is a crime to steal photographs. I will take legal action if this is not handled today. Thank you. Charisse Czaja Photography
