To a Good Home we will donate Dax, 20 years old. Needs special care. He is the sweetest gelding, but really too old to ride except for perhaps lead line.

I got this e-mail from a ranch around Austin if anyone interested.

We did lease out another of the office's yesterday, to a guy who does something on the internet. He's been workin out of his home, but can't get DSL there and needs it.

I'm not sure what to do about the UPS delivery. Never had this happen before (of course).

Are you getting emails from rescue organizations? Oh dear... You have a strong will than I do.

This is a ranch that sends me stuff about clinics and rides. They had a few horses for sale.

He may be already gone but I was going to show it to the stable owner. He might make a good beginner school horse for the kiddos.

Wondering about politics and such in the business, t-shirt messages are all over the board.... Are you selective about the ones you sell or do you sell some with slogans that don't agree with your sensibilities? Do you sell ones that are political on either side? or have risque content?

If it's their own horse, they need to keep him if they want him in a good retirement home. No one takes an old horse they don't know who is only going to die. The truth is, if this horse has served them so well, they are the ones that owe him the good care and medicine and increasing veterinary expense. no one else is going to take that on.

LOL. I'm trying hard to pick stuff that is just not in "my" taste. I'd probably sell both sides of politics, but I'd stay away from the bad insulting one's, or the really risque. I haven't seen anything really in the catalogs I'm ordering from about politics that I'd hesitate to sell if I thought it would. I have seen some pretty risque ones, or ones that have some bad language, I won't order that stuff.

I think that's really going to be one of the fun things, and also a big learning curve, is keeping up with the trend. Being able to pick ones that will sell. I've gotten several young people, and some adults to look thru the catalogs and show me what they like.

:)

Just so you know, my husband and I both post under this screen name, so we sign the bottom so every knows who they are talking too.

I got flamed once, before we started signing them, for something he said:)

Yeah probably. Just depends on the special needs I guess. I know they offer loaners so I just assumed it was one of their work horses. The horses that offer to sale from time to time have either been way out of my price range or experience level.

Sounds reasonable.... What if someone wants a custom shirt? Let us know if you get any requests for shirts that are an ethical dilemma. We'll all tell you what you should do :~D

Will you have internet access there at the shop? You could put up a web page where you could sell them online :~D

Mack just told me that the UPS site updated last night after I Went to bed. "Package overlooked, no attempt was made to deliver"

So, does that mean they will deliver today?? Who knows.

I believe that staying active and productive keeps people healthy in their older age and they shouldn't be just turned out to "pasture":'( I guess maybe I'm carrying that theory over to horses now:')

We can do custom stuff.

If it is something I find objectionable, I won't sell it.

It's sad to see... because someone is unloading him after his work is done and all he is now is an elderly patient. They have a little bit of guilt about him so they are trying to tug on someone else's heartstrings to do right by him. They get rid of all the increasing medical problems and feel absolved of guilt. No one does that with their old dog.
