My mail guy is very good. He delivers the mail at basically the same time every day, and if I meet him when his truck pulls up, he says hello and hands me my mail. He's very pleasant and courteous. His backup guy is very good too.

The mail carrier we had for over ten years recently retired. He was good also but he always had complaints about his bosses and various things going on in the PO. He said he couldn't wait to retire. With his military pension, he had enough to go. We have a younger guy now as the full time carrier, I hope he stays on this route for a long time.

My blind neighbor told me that they were teenagers.

My impression is that the Post Office is working pretty well lately. About a year ago we had a new delivery person who seemed very slow. But in short order she quit or was fired. The day she left it appeared that other carriers worked overtime together to make sure all her mail was delivered. Since then delivery has been punctual. I'm happy with Express and Priority Mail.

A friend who worked at a central sorting facility several years ago told me that he had figured out why there are so many shootings by Post Office employees. He said that the managers had absolutely no people skills. But perhaps they have fixed this too; it's been a while since I heard of one of these shootings.

Amazon.com offers free shipping for orders over $25., and they always ship with USPS. I have no complaints, the packages always come in good condition.

The only package I ever had arrive bashed up was with UPS. They delivered a video that was in a thousand pieces. They had to have set a computer box on top of my little box to do such damage. When you shook the video box, you could hear all the rattling inside.

Perhaps the paperboy is filling in for the postman. If so, leave him a good tip at Christmas.

We continually get our neighbors mail and vise versa, sometimes the mail from 8 or 9 houses down, at least once a week. I guess just getting close counts now ...

Perhaps, however our paper person is a non english speaking person, and is doing good to deliver the paper. Which I also have trouble with. We don't have paperboys here, Usually immigrant people with little english language skills. (Possibly illegal aliens).

I have a long, curved, unpaved driveway through a stand of trees with mailbox on the main road at the end. UPS and FedEx deliver stuff to my door, but the lazy US Post Office considers my road impassable and leaves me pick-up notices so I have to drive to town to pick up packages. It's the upppity Lesbian Mafia here, don't know about your place.

Yes, privatize the mail and the first thing that happens is residential delivery will get cut to about 2 times per week, and for business delivery you are going to have to pay a delivery fee if your volume falls below a certain dollar value.

There are some other ways to really make some money out of mail ~ the general public won't like them, but tough! Business is business.

Most of the mail carriers are from various immigrant countries, some from Phillippines, Mexico, South America, other asian descents as well. It is rare that we get an african american, or white mail carriers. They are usually male, so I haven't seen any of the Lesbian Mafia here, sorry. I have a couple of relatives like that though, I don't have much to do with them. They scare me.

The fundamental personnel problem at USPS is that the work is such that mentally unstable folks can do it quite well. As a result they tend to stick around. Eventually many of them get promoted into supervisory and management ranks.

Fortunately there is some turnover in the lower ranks of clerks and carriers, so not everybody is a active psychiatric case.

As to be expected, there are actually people at the top of this situation (at USPS headquarters) who think they float a foot off the floor and have the attention of angels, if not God Himself.

Piping Prozac into the waterfountains and waterbottles in the place would help everybody.

Postal dept is a bloated sacred cow that need slaughtering and the parts sold to UPS, FEDEX and others that know how to deliver.

A couple of years ago, my brother-in-law, who was living with us at the time, took a job in Diego Garcia. He did a change of address just for himself before he left. It didn't take long to notice that my husband and I were getting less and less mail every day. We stopped getting our bills and other important correspondence. I called the post office to find out was going on and it turned out that they were sending ALL of the household mail to Diego Garcia. They acknowledged that my brother-in-law had only done a change of address for himself and they couldn't explain why it was happening. It took three phone calls and a trip to the post office to get them to finally stop forwarding all of our mail.

Don't be sorry, be glad. I live in a 99% white community but with lots of gays and lesbians. Lesbian girls drive several of the mail trucks delivering to rural addresses. They are lazy, unwilling to get the mail through "through sleet and snow" or anything else. They leave nasty notes in my mailbox telling me my driveway is "impassable." Funny, FedEx and UPS, with larger trucks, trundle down the driveway all the time. I don't know what the L's problem is....perhaps they believe it's on their lesbian job description to act angry and superior. But they're all show and no go. I hope you've complained to your postmaster about rotten service, which hopefully is just a temporary glitch while regular mailcarriers are off on vacation.

Don't advertise the demographics too much. The muticulturalists will be sending you some groups of something or other to fill out your welfare roles.

Yes, and with privatization one of the first orders I'll issue (as a hypothetical top boss of the successor) is to eliminate DOOR DELIVERY.

You'll get it on a cluster box down at the corner like all real Americans ~ and LIKE IT!

For what it's worth, a couple post offices were closed down yesterday due to some weird substance. I am not sure of the details--but I think it was up in Northern California, Los Gatos perhaps. I have two brothers, hard working and conscientious, one of whom is a postmaster (1 man office) and the other finally just got hired on permanent. That said, MY post person is always giving us someone else's mail!!!

My mail carrier is a gentleman, a nice fella, rarely makes mistakes (over the last three years, once he put 1 wrong item of mail in my mailbox, no biggie), and the day's mail is usually in the mailbox by 11:00am.

As for nice legs, I have the hottest FedEx Woman! I've has a 'special delivery' for her since the first moment I saw her!!! ;-)
