Okay, so ... like, is this a vanity post about vanity posts?
Amen. I come here for NEWS & Discussion.
A bit of humor is fine, and fun is fun, but going down the list of "Latest" is hard navigation right now, due to all the trolls, duolicates, & vanities.
Annoying as heck to wade past batches of non-stories put up several windows of 'cuurent' stories to read, only to find "Thread locked...Duplicate".
Sorry, but new ideas require new threads to flesh them out (so they don't get lost in the middle of an existing thread). It's the only way to explore them completely.
The only way to protect against having so many vanities in the news section while still allowing the investigation to go on unimpeded would be to create an alternate forum (like we have News, Chat, Vetscor, etc.) for FReeper/blogger investigative work.
This sort of research is so important to FR. Most of the posts at FR are just by FReepers kicking their feet up, having a discussion about the news, keeping informed, bitching about bias, talking religion, etc. But the whole point of FR is to get conservative activism done--namely, organizing protests and fact-checking leftists.
