Get your Elvis snow globes before he zots you!
LOL
Yes you are!!
I don't remember seeing this. I will save it. Who knows someday, I may find an upside down graphic to accompany it. :)
I'm sure Mama_bear or Billie have something. Just remeber it would go at the bottom.
Seen through the misted window that I'm looking through today,
She sits there, with a faded book, without a word to say.
The pages flip and turn, and I can only make a guess
at what things those mementoes hold, between the pages' press.
Simple things, of times gone by that photos might recall,
the smell of farm-fresh eggs while feeding a pony in her stall,
a wintry walk among the birches, holding lover's hand,
or the neighborhood block social, or music of a baby grand.
I cannot help but think on what might be behind her eyes,
if mementoes are the source of joy, or rather midnight cries,
but there! She's looking up at me, and through the glass, is that
the look of forlorn lost, can it be truly sore and flat?
My fingers press upon the pane, and into pain I smile,
my only thought, to ease and lift the burden for a while,
and there I see, the slightest crease of greeting on her lips,
and followed by the doorknob opening 'neath her fingertips.
So now, by naught but her leave, I now am ushered in,
to see her world of silence, without all the din
And perhaps, she'll let me sit with her, and share the scrapbook, too,
and to make that smile come again, is what I'll work to do.

Oh my, Elvis wants to talk to me, that's creepy!
Hey, OESY, I never made it to your post where you tell us what day it is! Maybe tomorrow. Going for the day any minute now...
Ohhh ..... that is wonderful, Sarge.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
You always bring delightful posts when you come by for a visit. Thank you.
You have no idea:
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a good week so far. I've been busy, busy, busy. I drove back yesterday, and then I was in the office most of the day today. I couldn't FReep in the office because they still haven't gotten my computer fixed. I guess they changed the network over the summer, and since I wasn't there, they didn't set up my computer. But now that they tried, they can't get it to work. :( Currently I'm taking a homework break. I'm watching the convention tonight too. LOL!
Hey, I'm watching the Convention, too. :-)
I wish I could join you at the picnic.
Laura Bush is supposed to speak tonight...If my memory is correct. LOL! :)
Hi PAL! I tried to find the names of my unusual plants I told you about. But I couldn't find the slips of paper that I wrote them on. :( It's really bugging me that I don't know what their names are!
That's right, and so is Arnold. :-)
