Darn, I was looking for a chance to ascend to the glittering throne of Carpathia and rule with an iron boot.
*sigH*
/ joke

It did make or some fascinating sci-fi reading.
I don't rule out time travel, but highly doubt anyone would bother coming back to this time frame/era.
There's so much more out there to see and study, why bother with the 'recent' boring past?

I very much doubt a civil war will start in the US in 2005. If it does I will take his stuff more seriously.

And gee no mention of 9/11 - not even a vaguely worded hint.

And this 'Time Traveller' mentions that time travel occurs because of a mini-black hole. Wasn't Hawking just disproved on that a little while ago?

What is he getting at here? Anyone have an idea?

Since the interviews with John Titor occurred in late 2000 and early 2001, my guess is that he was referring to the Y2K bug.

"The civil war in the United States will start in 2004. I would describe it as having a Waco type event every month that steadily gets worse. "

Hmmm....as even a quick check of 2004 news archives will show - there have been no 'Waco' type events of any sort in 2004 as yet. Given that the year is winding down, johnny boy only has about 5 months to kick start his doom/gloom scenario. Personally, I don't think he's gonna make it.

Well, unless Kerry lies his way into the oval office of course. I could see him pissing off enough of the country to kick start a civil war. Just jacking up everyone's taxes, confiscating private property and everyone's guns could be the match that lights the fuse.

A win by Kerry with some overwhelming vote fraud would be enough. (tossed ballot boxes, judges announcing email absentee ballots illegal, dead, felons , double voting rampant). Then the UN rubber stamping the whole travesty as 'fair'.

It won't happen though. Kerry is about to lose with the blessing of the DNC.

I think that's a pretty accurate assesment.

As an aside, 'john titor's' future scenarios sound suspiciously like a game called 'shadowrun'. Minus the fantasy and cybernetics of course.

And the fact that all electronics in his world don't work because of an EMP blast, but somehow a time machine survived. More bull than a Texas ranch.

what a goof-bag. Here's a comment from:

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2004/08/10.html#t

"John Titor stated in no uncertain terms that the United States would undergo a type of 'revolution or civil war.' Beyond a doubt, a showdown that may put our democracy to the test is silently building around the persuasive political capabilities of Dr. Steven Greer as he builds a convincing case against the 'shadow government' bureaucracy. From the grassroots of informed citizens such as the Coast to Coast AM audience, to the 'behind closed doors' meetings with government officials, and sworn statements of government employees, the movement has legs......

"Dr Greer has the guts, the intelligence, the desire, and the momentum to carry this off. Will Dr. Greer be in the forefront of the movement which will make truth of the most outlandish of the Titor predictions?"

Steven Greer is a dentist (if memory serves) who gained notoreity about ten years ago when he claimed to be able to wave in ET UFOs using ordinary flashlights. At that time he claimed he and his group had been doing that for some time, to have videotape of such events, and said that within a short time (obviously longer than ten years) full and fulltime contact would be established with ET civilizations.

Nothing against UFO sightings, but Greer is just a con artist.

Titor is also just a con artist.

'TIME-TRAVELER' BUSTED FOR INSIDER TRADING
He made $350 million off the stock market -- in just 2 weeks!
By CHAD KULTGEN

NEW YORK -- Federal investigators have arrested an enigmatic Wall Street wiz on insider-trading charges -- and incredibly, he claims to be a time-traveler from the year 2256!

Sources at the Security and Exchange Commission confirm that 44-year-old Andrew Carlssin offered the bizarre explanation for his uncanny success in the stock market after being led off in handcuffs on January 28.

"We don't believe this guy's story -- he's either a lunatic or a pathological liar," says an SEC insider.

"But the fact is, with an initial investment of only $800, in two weeks' time he had a portfolio valued at over $350 million. Every trade he made capitalized on unexpected business developments, which simply can't be pure luck.

"The only way he could pull it off is with illegal inside information. He's going to sit in a jail cell on Rikers Island until he agrees to give up his sources."

The past year of nose-diving stock prices has left most investors crying in their beer. So when Carlssin made a flurry of 126 high-risk trades and came out the winner every time, it raised the eyebrows of Wall Street watchdogs.

"If a company's stock rose due to a merger or technological breakthrough that was supposed to be secret, Mr. Carlssin somehow knew about it in advance," says the SEC source close to the hush-hush, ongoing investigation.

When investigators hauled Carlssin in for questioning, they got more than they bargained for: A mind-boggling four-hour confession.

Carlssin declared that he had traveled back in time from over 200 years in the future, when it is common knowledge that our era experienced one of the worst stock plunges in history. Yet anyone armed with knowledge of the handful of stocks destined to go through the roof could make a fortune.

"It was just too tempting to resist," Carlssin allegedly said in his videotaped confession. "I had planned to make it look natural, you know, lose a little here and there so it doesn't look too perfect. But I just got caught in the moment."

In a bid for leniency, Carlssin has reportedly offered to divulge "historical facts" such as the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden and a cure for AIDS.

All he wants is to be allowed to return to the future in his "time craft."

However, he refuses to reveal the location of the machine or discuss how it works, supposedly out of fear the technology could "fall into the wrong hands."

Officials are quite confident the "time-traveler's" claims are bogus. Yet the SEC source admits, "No one can find any record of any Andrew Carlssin existing anywhere before December 2002."

Weekly World News will continue to follow this story as it unfolds. Keep watching for further developments.
