Far as I know, only the location has been set (sorta) the rest is open to de-bait. Onliest thing I know is, No Surprise Visitors. Ain't gonna try that, no-way.
"Those who are found here at night - won't be found in the morning".
G'nite all, waaayy past lights out.
That's what I'm hoping it is.
And like you said, as long as he isn't trying to roll, he's OK.
I wonder what he got into? You think he ate something he shouldn't have?
G'nite osage!
I'm gonna get these kids settled again and hopefully have lights out soon.
My nephew is over and he's missing his mom.
Hair, I'll have Bay in prayer tonight. Even our 4-legged pals need God's hands! Don't fret, sis. He's gonna be A-OK in no time at all.
Love ya! Good night!
I just called the vet and described the above.... and tested whether he'd eat by putting grain right under him. Won't eat grain, sick horse.
The vet's on his way. Again.
Cool! I can be there then. Should I wear my hawaiian shirt or do you want my "wedding suit?"
Okay, actually it all started when I fell through the ceiling.
Here's a few pics.
This is a vey cool light. Can't really tell much from the pictures. But the plastic blocks are what light up. They have sort of a techno-blue glow to them. Not real practical, but vey cool.
You can wear whatever you like, master dwarf!
Vet has left with Bay still on his feet, which is always good, update in a minute....
That is a super cool room Corin! Does he know this was happening or is it a surprise?
If you were writing a book, that would be a cool opening line.
We have a metal/techno looking desk and shelves to put in there. And a vey cool hanging chair that we got him for his birthday.
We got the chair at the Home Show we went to in February. It's made strong enough to hold ME, so it's most cool. ;-)
Well, Bay did fine during the afternoon, browsing on dry weeds in the pasture, but this evening once the medication wore off, he started looking dumpy and laying down again. He even refused to eat grain that was offered to him, which I have never seen him do before. So we called the vet back.
After checking his (Bay's) vital signs again (which are still fairly normal) and administering another dosage of medicine and a slight sedative, he (the vet) put on a long glove and proceeded to perform a rectal examination... inserting his arm up to the shoulder, checking for obstructions, pulling out lumps of poo and checking the consistency. He (the vet) said it (the poo) seemed a little harder and drier than is normal, like he's (Bay's) getting a touch dehydrated. They (the horses) have plenty of water that we (ecurbh and Hair) keep filled up, but it (the weather) has been so dang hot lately.
He (the vet) pulled out a 6-foot section of plastic hose, got it lubed up, and started feeding it (the tube) up through his (Bay's) nose, all the way down to the stomach. Bay seemed rather nonplussed at the whole procedure, but then, if I was in his situation, I would be too. Anyway, he (the vet) pumped in a couple gallons of an oily-watery mixture to try to clear out whatever has him blocked up.
Looks good so far, he (Bay) ate a couple bites of grain and nibbled some hay, and hasn't seemed to be in a hurry to lay back down. We'll see if he eats breakfast in the morning, and take it from there. He (the vet) isn't worried about a serious episode tonight, so we shouldn't have to stay up with him (Bay) all night.
Thanks for your prayers!
Hmmmm...I have to do a monologue about me for acting class on Wednesday...that's a thought. Although it doesn't fit what I was thinking about...
I'm glad Bay is doing better. I'm also glad I'm not a vet. ;-)
g'nite folks.
He may have to come back for a couple more of these doses of oil.... pray he doesn't, this will be hard to afford.
I remember listening to that on cassette during my move here from MN.
Good night Corin! I would actually love the job my vet has.... I would come back as a vet if given a second chance at this life. He is really a good guy. And, I would love to be able to take a picture of him to post without seeming like a groupie. He is just soooooo cute.
Good morning! I had myself convinced it was Wednesday. Bummer. So failing that I'll just wish for Friday.
I get to edit the report that she-who-needs-ritalin messed up again. She loves to use overly flowery and complicated verbage to make simple points. Then she pounced on me yesterday when I suggested this wasn't appropriate for technical writing. It's not what our customer wants. The Army green-suiters who will get this report don't have a lot of patience for rhetorical flourishes.
She said, "If they're not smart enough to read the report they shouldn't be doing the job."
*sigh*
Cool...looks kinda Star Trek or sumpin. I like that chair!
