He sure wasn't a hero to CA conservatives. And I come from a conservative county in CA (Orange County).

We've all done stupid things we've later regretted. At least you saw the error of your ways.

xshub could write you a dissertation on the advantages of being a liberal cum conservative, bc of the ability to understand that mindset from having HAD IT. he can tell you what liberals think and how they approach issues and that is so much more valuable when combatting them. As is always said, Republicans bring a rule book to a knife fight.

He probably didn't like the color scheme in the Governor's mansion. He did drive his own car. I think he brought his own garbage to the dump.

I've always considered you correct on most things, but on this issue when he was Governor, I couldn't stand him.

Asexual probably.

I will shut up about him now.

Maybe not, He was after all a Democrat, however, he was also a Dem, with an 84% approval rating at one point, and IIRC, as of 1976, the most Conservative president we had elected was.....Richard Nixon??????? (Price and Wage Controls, Est. the EPA...) (Nixon was also the only REAL republican elected to the WH since Hoover.)

However, I would respectfully suggest that anyone would look lesser when picking up the shoes left by his predecessor....Looking back on his record, however, compared to those that have come after him........is another story entirely.

If nothing else, all three of those cases highlight the severe inadequacy of the Prosecutorial systems in this country in terms of talent and ability, underscoring further how powerful the State really is, when up against a lower level of competition.

I'm hoping I can stay awake late enough to watch Geta's show tonight.........just out of curiosity.

I don't know if he did it or not, but correctly predicted he would be found not guilty......and won the pool at the local watering hole. More than 150 people were in there that day awaiting the verdict to be announced....over the bar they had a tote board guilty/not guilty and everyone tossed a buck in the pot to cast their vote....there was only one vote in the not guilty column.........mine.

BTW - the money went to the Leukemia society
