Ah, well that 'splains it. I'm a water sign. I don't feel comfortable on land. :-)
No bears or cougars out on da water. :-)

Hmm, I think somewhere I read that my name is from Old Norse, meaning one of three things: freeman, one from the deer estate, or a place frequented by wild things. Anyone have an Old Norse Dictionary handy?

I got one painful burn this year that peeled, even though I had ecurbh rubbin lotion on me several times a day.
Once I get through that, I won't burn anymore this season, but I do tan so slowly... I layed out 10 hours a day to keep up with my bronze friends in high school!

In fact... I can expand on that a little.
I can be in a boat and out of sight of land, and not feel the least bit uncomfortable. But being on land, and out of sight of water is *truly* uncomfortable to me. I spent a week in Kansas City once... and the mere thought about how far away from saltwater I was at the time really was oppressive. Nothing but dirt as far as the eye could see... yikers... how do you navigate in that stuff? :-)

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure that's what the problem was. But we're getting an appointment with his ENT to check on the tubes.

being on land, and out of sight of water is *truly* uncomfortable to me.I feel that way if I'm away from trees. Austin and the surrounding area are really quite "green", but it still took me a while to get used to it. They were *different* trees from the ones I grew up with...

And my FReeper name is....? ;) hehehe... roger that. Yahknow... I *have* seen bear tracks on the beach right in front. Last time was a couple of years ago, though. Looked like the tracks of a young adult Black bear. Black bears are mostly harmless, he was probly just looking for a quick route to his favorite berry bushes.
It's da Grizzlies that you gotta watch out fer... and we don't see those over here on the peninsula. They're pretty much only up in the upper Cascades and northern from there.

We gotcha covered in the "green" department. Oh yeah... we can do green. And trees. Lotsa trees. Really, really BIG trees if you want 'em.
Heck... I got trees in my yard that are more than four feet thick and over a hundred feet tall. There's way bigger'n that not too far away...

There are black bears where I grew up... stay away from the mama bears and they're no bother. I don't want to meet any grizzlies, though!

I don't want to meet any grizzlies, though! Me neither. Lucky us... we don't get 'em round these parts.
It's the cougs that creep me out. Fortunately, though, if there's a coug after you... you never see 'em comin'. Just a flash of fur and blood and there you find yourself at da' pearly gates. :-) werks fer me.
