Will Jessica be unable to identify the meat in "Chitlins of the South Possum"?

Britney would be much better in the role. She would be more believeable and should have black hair, which she does anyway.

Blondes are so overrated. I cannot believe they are going to butcher the legacy of the Dukes of Hazzard with a blonde Daisy Duke.
True blondes are rare in the South. Most women, especially in Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee have coal black or very dark hair.
I love my brunette country bumpkin'.

I dont think either of them can stack up to Catherine Bach. Remember when the network censors forced her to cover up her outstanding legs - with beauty enhancing pantyhose?

I guess Britney slitting her wrists in her last video didn't help her in the Q meter. What an image for all those little girls.

There is a new Boss Hogg in town...and he's black!

All of these posts are cracking me up.
Do we really care if the actor/actress who is playing a role is smart or dumb? I don't. If I go to see the Dukes of Hazzard's movie I'll go to be entertained, not to see if the actor can calculate the quantum rotation of the third moon of Jupiter.
Frankly, I imagine that the producers of this movie are going to cast the Daisy Duke character as little more than eye candy... which is fine with me. Is that "being true" to the original Daisy Duke character who, as some pointed out, was courageous and a host of other admirable qualities? Probably not. But if I wanted to watch the original, I'd buy the DVDs.
Movies based on old TV shows are bound to disappoint if you go in with the attitude that it's going to be a new "episode" of the show. The ones that work well for me are the ones who casually spoof the old show. Starskey and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, The Brady Bunch were all great movies (IMHO) because they kept the same flavor of the show, but weren't afraid to spoof the show as well.
Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson doesn't matter to me who plays Daisy Duke. As long as she dresses the part and the director gets her to act the part, then we're all good.
But y'all are right on one thing... a black Boss Hogg just really misses the point... unless they are going for irony...

This one has loser written so boldly on it that one wonders if it is some kind of tax dodge.
Unusually bad casting imo.
