I know what you mean about some the youngest ones being kids. I still think that it's the kids who are driving most of the voted however. When you go back and look at how long JPL and John Stevens stayed, while others who would appeal to an older audiance left, I can't think of any other reason.
I have no doubt it would infuriate a lot of viewers if they found out their 14 years old was determining the outcome but why not.
The voting problem is quite simple. Individuals get more then one vote. The results will always therefore make it a popularity contest.
Good thing I could care less about that rediculous circus of a show. I find it hilarious how culturally PC it is every season (notice the race/gender of the winners, and the race/gender of the "beloved" final three in this years competition) and just turning to the show makes me want to scream.
The 14-year-old-girl-crowd just doesnt appeal to me, I guess. I'm not interested in watching a bunch of dim-witted girls and flamboyant (and also dim-witted) young men scream over the potentially "hot new singer in America", no thanks.
It saddens me that the entertainment business is so successful in creating a society of youths that embrace anti-religious, anti-conservative, neo-socialist (and somehow...family oriented??) sentiments while when asked about politics or their thoughts on global issues they are as responsive as a deer caught in headlights.
MY American Idol is George W. Bush, who's yours?
Corey
What they are telling you is that when there are few contestants the winner is determined by pure chance.
Did you catch this evenings show?
No, I didn't. Today is my birthday so my daughters and I went out to dinner.
I had wanted to see it, but couldn't today. How was it?
Fantasia screeched in that nasal twank of hers, Jasmine was okay and Diana was pretty darned good.
Happy birthday!
I hope not. I don't want to have to listen to Fantasia again. It's like listening to Willie Nelson sing funk.
You really have a way with words! I am heading to bed soon, if I have Willie Nelson singing funk in my dreams you WILL hear about it!
Sleep well.

Well, Fantasia is still in. It looked to me like Jasmine was ready to go. She seemed pretty okay with it.
For the first time in a long time I watched my local news tonight (Houston) and they spent almost 10 full minutes of a 30 minute newscast talking about AI.
It was disgusting, they were so mean about Jasmine. They said some horrible things about her. They were way out of line, talking about a teenage girl that way.
Anyway, talk to you another time. Oh, I don't need therapy. I had a nice glass of wine before I went to bed, so I did not have nightmares of Willie Nelson.
I hereby predict that if Fantasia loses, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Johnnie Cochran will be claiming racism. There main arguement will be that the phone companies prevented calls from the black neighborhoods from going through.

There = Their
Go Diana!
