Hi there Cav! I finally decided to jump in and be LurkerBeth no more. I hope everything at the farm made it ok. It got pretty hairy at the barn yesterday afternoon about 5 when I went to feed the girls. They sure didn't like all the wind and rain. I didn't either. I got soaked. When I left, they were all standing on the downwind side of the barn. I hope I don't see wind like that again for a LONG time!
To: FrogInABlender
on the tv they showed the storm going in a circle and coming back down. What a mess.

Off to the barn in about an hour. I hope it doesn't decide to rain between now and then. Ugh, and it's also really humid.

Great site! Thanks! I always thought calling GW a cowboy was a compliment, not an insult. To quote a great old song, "My heros have always been Cowboys".

Just got back from the barn. It didn't rain thank goodness. But my trainer ripped me limb from limb. It was not a good ride.

Good Morning, um, evening now. : )
Thanks! Only a few trees down and lots of tree leaves covering the ground everywhere was about it for me. Others are still without power because of trees falling on powerlines. Hopefully their power will be restored today.

I did not try to go out yesterday. The wind was blowing and it was raining so hard that I decided to wait until today. I will agree, we have seen enough stormy weather to last us for a while.

This is a welcome surprise. : )
She will have to post some pics of her horses. There are some that I have not seen yet.
To: HairOfTheDog; FrogInABlender
Oh I got dressed down alright. Or maybe I just need thicker skin. Or maybe she was just in a bad mood. First I got yelled at because my horse was spooky, and I was letting her look at the bushes to let her see that there's nothing there (It's worked for me on many horses before) I didn't know that I couldn't let her look because that would make her more afraid. So after I screwed that up, I spent most of my lesson trying to prevent her from running away, and trying to make her focus. On top of that, she's a wider horse, and her gaits are awkward, so it's harder for me to keep my leg where it should be, and I have a very limited range of motion as it is.
Among other things, she told me I'd never be able to develop an independent seat. (I have one, or at least THOUGHT I did) She was disappointed, and frustrated at me, etc. She thinks it's because I'm not focusing, I think that it's because I'm on a new horse, and it's going to take me a bit to adjust. We'll see.
And another really odd thing, is that she treats me like I'm a green, and doesn't seem to think that I have the ability to even mount without assistance. Other than that, she's a good trainer, I've never had better, but maybe her breaking in process is a bit longer than most others.
I learned alot of lessons in my lesson today! :-) But we all need a good dressing down now and again. Just makes me want to work harder next week, which was perhaps her whole goal in the first place.

Good morning to you.
Wonder how CindyDawg's wedding event went? Sure hope that she did not have to use the "Ceremonial double barrel." LOL!
