Morning. I got here about 6 to get my weights finished. The night nurse can't give me the info I need so I'm having to wait for the day shift to finish report. So, went to Shoneys and eating a take out breakfast:')

Good morning!

Well, I know what you hope, but I hope the trainer from that barn sends over a normal, eminently ~sensible~ english buyer for Harley, one who looks, rides and takes him home without dissecting him, if only so I don't have to live the rest of my life hearing about how nutty english people are ;~D

I don't plan on telling anyone else about this idiots opinion, because that is all it was was opinion. He didn't take an exray, just his opinion.

I was wondering about the x-ray.... an x-ray would show if the coffin bone had rotated in a serious founder for sure and there would be no 'maybe'. No rotation, no permanent problem. But remember, the vet didn't say the horse might have foundered, right? It is possible the husband pulled that out of his naval.... or that he understood so little about what he heard that he hears a discussion about what the vet is looking for and thinks he found those things.

If you don't think the horse has ever foundered, you don't have to disclose this experience to a buyer, you didn't even get the truth of his opinion.

Good Morning. Working Rusty around barrels today? (I almost said over barrels, but that just didn't sound right) :-)

I think is what happened is one the trainer told me these people had a horse in the spring they had to put down because of founder.

Then the lady takes the horse to the vet, he says the ripples in the horses feet "might" be founder. She stops the exam right then and leaves.

This still doesn't make sense, but putting together what everyone has said that's the best I can come up with.

I was hoping the vet might call the people after I called him to help them get the facts right. Not that I would sell them the horse now, but I was hoping he'd call and give it to me straight.

I'm just having a hard time believeing that this may have all been to try to get me off my price...from what I have heard of these people they have money rolling everywhere. Who knows what went on in their minds.

I"m taking Rusty and Trash down to the arena in town tonight and Kristy is going to come pick up Harley and work with him some too.

I had made plans to meet Tami (Trash's owner) down there before I had Harley back, and I don't want to let her down. I can only haul two at a time.

I'm surprised that the vet didn't x-ray he feet to back up his claims.(which you think that he would have if there was a possibility of founder) Nutty fruitcakes! These people give other horse people a bad name.

I agree that it has nothing to do with price. The people are just nutty.

~they~ had a horse that was put down from founder? I thought this was a first horse?

No vet would look at normal ripples in feet and say "that might be founder". But a paranoid and uninformed husband would, and the vet would say something like "maybe it's an indication blah blah blah BUT" and noid husband lost interest before the sentence finished.

The farrier is coming this afternoon too. He also shoes for these same people. I am hoping I can get him to tell them that the horses feet are great, and that he has never foundered.

So Harley is being started today too? I meant Harley instead of Rusty in my last post, sorry. Sounds like you have a full house.

Yeah I was under the impression at first that he was their first horse after talking to them on the phone. The husband kept saying he knew nothing about horses and the decision would be left to the trainer. It wasn't until I delivered Harley over there that the trainer told me they had others. The mother rides. The kid has another older horse.

Tech I have a couple of more weeks to decide about Sarah Lee but the only way I would have backed out was if something major showed up. When I agreed to "try her" I was committed to buying her on the terms set. She's not perfect but I doubt any horse is. She started bonding with me the first day I saw her and as long as she meets my needs I wouldn't even think of stressing her out on a whim. Maybe they are looking for a "guarenteed win" or something for the kid. Who knows? Strange people.
