You talking about human or horse shoes? It pulls my tennis shoes right off my heels. Of course if I would stop being vain and wear those new boots that I got with my spurs it wouldn't happen. I paid 80 dollars for them and they look so nice though :')

Horse shoes... Deep suck mud can pull the horse shoes right off. Seen it happen on trail a lot. It's not good when they only pull it part way off if you didn't bring tools.

I need some new rubber paddock boots before next winter.... Mine are leaky which is more annoying than not wearing boots at all!

Yeah, I need to pick up a pair. I had one before Okie but like everything else I gave them away:') Didn't need um. I didn't know about the shoes but I was concerned it might be too much straining. Good to know. I still have them on him.

Great pictures:)

No riding going on for me now, 1. it's been raining for 2 days and is suppose to rain all day tomorrow, which in one sense is a blessing because 2. I'm down with a nasty cold. First time I've been sick in forever:(. I've got a head so full of snot it feels like it's going to run out my ears. My eyes and nose are already overflowing. The cough is setting in now. I'm getting ready to take some night time sniffling sneezing runny nose achy coughing whatever so I can sleep tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to lay in my chair all day. Today I had to drive to Grove which is about 1 1/2 hours from here to see my dad. I've been planning on running up there for 2 wks and wanted to get it done, but now I'm beat.

It happens. Probably not much you can do. I was riding thru a corn field with someone and he had just told me to give my horse slack but to stay on guard and had showed me an ER stop. I heard him say "cow" and the next thing I knew my horse had turned sideways into a low ditch. I automatically did the stop but ended up laying against the left stirrups. It hurt bad (leg cramp) but I held on to the saddle and locked my right leg and pulled myself back up. The guy told me it was one of the best saves he had ever seen. Probably just said it to make me feel better but I thought I was going down for a few seconds :') I wear a helment for now. I thinking about one of the padded vests too but they look so bulky and hot.

I didn't want to hijack the thread about horses but I did think it was awesome. I hate to keep saying this but I didn't know. Mine has his head down most of the time. That's how I like it. When it's up , it's going to be one of those days :')

Well, the sun is out, so I'm am feeling a lot better. Went out and mowed a bit and everything looks so good after the rain I took some pictures:)

Rain really greened everything up:) My morning glories have reached the top of the arbor, and that is a climbing rose bush in the middle that I got on Mother's Day. I think it is actually going to make it

A few glads are starting to bloom

And the first lilly's

Well I got to ride today (in a small dry area). I was a little apprehensive since it had been over a week. I didn't know if I would have a rodeo or not. I did my stand still routine with him and he did fine. A train couldn't have move him when I got on. He just stood there:')

Riding getting easier too. I'm anticipating his slow downs but all this time I may have been causing some of his problems and didn't know it. I was taught to kick the school horses to go forward. A boarder told me that most trained horses respond to just pressure to both legs and that might be the reason he backs up on me when I want to go forward was because I'm telling him too. I don't know but I tried it. It worked!

What kinda graphic are you thinking of? I'd just keyword google pictures, unless you have one of your own to use... the one in the graphic is my Bay. :~D

Glad you had a good ride! I still haven't ridden in over a week (or two?) just too busy. Want to ride him a little before company comes, he'll be asked to do a considerable bit of toting children around!

Yes, with horses that aren't reluctant, just giving them a space to move into makes them go... I talk to Bay and use voice as much as anything... and just a leg pressure.

I use to love having people come out to ride my horses. I thought it was cool to be able to give someone something that they didn't normally get to do. Now I cringe. Rocky handles things pretty good, but there is no way I'd put someone on Rusty. I let Heather ride him one time and she let him lope around in the wrong lead for awhile, and it took me a long time to get him to pick that lead up first try after that. One time I was riding with a girl who was having trouble with her horse and she asked me to ride it for a while. She got on Rusty, and he got real slow with her, and was zig zagging...took awhile to get him to stop that too. He's an opprotunitest:)

Rocky will pick up the worng one sometimes with her, but if Jenny or I ride him he doesn't do that.

These will be little kids, which are fun... little ones that we will just set up there and lead them around.

I am awful nervous to let grownups that don't ride on Bay. He's just not a school horse. If they do something silly like kick him and hoot... he'll ~go~!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I've gotten no planting done. With the exception of a few days earlier this week, the rain has been incessant. We got another 1.3 inches overnight. Oshkosh, 20 miles south of here, got over 4 inches. US Hwy 41 is closed in both directions due to flooding, and a street near our Oshkosh office is basically a river right now.
