Well.. it's somewhat a permanent dread-lock, and hasn't been cut in 31 years.
It's not grey because it hasn't been washed in 31 years likely as well.
I would also guess that 75% or more of that hair mass is no longer attached to his scalp.
More than likely.
We shed hair every day, so a good portion of it is probably not rooted.
I do hope they gave the signal for 'duress' while speaking.
