It was a rough "police action" for the ground forces...

The Turks seemed to love it....The whole contingent got cut off and were written off....A few days later, here they came marching down the road, mad as he!!...They had had Commies all around them and the killing was easy...Pi$$ed cause the UN wasn't getting ammo to them...

They were the only ones to not lose a man in the PW camps...Stuck together and took care of one another...

On the other hand GI's were shoving wounded buddies out the door to freeze in the camps.....

.....Westy....

Did any of your buddies let you down in the war?

Holy mackeral - pushing a comrade out the door to freeze to death is not exactly military protocol is it??? But war can do some pretty bad things to people.

I wasn't in the ground forces or a POW camp.....I was attached to a not high priority SAC Bomb Group...Most of the guys in it were WWII vets, a different breed than the post war crew....The short answer is NO

.....Westy....

A lot of the first troops into Korea were ex Occupation troops....They had had it easy in Japan lording it over the 'natives'. Figured all they had to do was march up the road and the 'g**ks would throw away their guns and run...Didn't out work that way and a lot of them were pretty well traumatized....

....Westy.....

Funny how things go when you go into someone's home with guns, isn't it?

You will love sitting high off the road. When I get into a car now, I think my butt is going to drag on the road. LOL

My DH told me that his truck was feeling sluggish pulling the camper back last weekend. So, I suggested that we get a new vehicle to tow the camper. He grinned and agreed.

Then I suggested that we replace the oldest vehicle with a new one. My van is sixteen years old and his truck is just a youthful ten. He stopped grinning. But, he is looking for a new van.

LOL

Yep .. I made him handle the whole thing

Besides I had a lot of running around to do with the kids

I had to run home to get Dana from school .. then I had to pick Jess up because she had a class field trip today and they were an 1 1/2 late getting home .. then I picked up Burger King, threw it in the back seat to the kids and told them to eat fast .. then I had to run home and pick up Jess's camping gear for her girl scouts trip this weekend .... then had to run Dana over to her friends so they could work on their science project .. then run over and drop Jess off at her troop leaders house (She drove Jess for me) .. I have to head down there tomorrow .. I couldn't do it tonight since I didn't have a car ..

Soooooooo I figure letting him deal with all the car stuff was the least I could do *L*

Now maybe I can find a cozy little retreat in the hills and entice you to come and visit.
