Hey!

Your noodle would be limp in CenTex, too.

Cheers, CB.

A Good Year For The Roses: George Jones

I can hardly bear the sight of lipstick on the cigarettes there in the ashtray.
Lyin' cold the way you left them but at least your lips caressed them while you packed.
And a lip print on a half-filled cup of coffee that you poured and didn't drink.
But at least you thought you wanted it an' that's so much more than I can say for me.

It's been a good year for the roses,
Many blooms still linger there.
The lawn could stand another mowin':
Funny, I don't even care.
When you turned to walk away,
And as the door behind you closes,
The only thing I know to say:
It's been a good year for the roses.

After three full years of marriage it's the first time that you haven't made the bed.
I guess the reason we're not talkin': there's so little left to say, we haven't said.
An' while a million thoughts go runnin' through my mind, I find I haven't spoke a word.
And from the bedroom, the familiar sound of our one baby's cryin', goes unheard.

But what a good year for the roses,
Many blooms still linger there.
The lawn could stand another mowin':
Funny, I don't even care.
And when you turned to walk away,
As the door behind you closes,
The only thing I know to say:
It's been a good year for the roses.

I'll be home next week for some good Maine Lobster.

Sharky honeybunch.. I don't think Whitefish will ever replace Haddock. We don't eat much of that Whitefish up north.. ;) Sometimes they try to slip it to you in a fish-fry..

I went to a concert here many years ago with George Jones and that silly Tanya Tucker. George was just great in his singing and playing and joking. He tried to get little Tanya to sing without music (and no, I can't spell accupello) with him and she got so mad, she chewed him out right on stage. I would suspect he was a little drunk and she couldn't do it. LOL

He was always drunk..as in No Show Jones.. I never liked Tanya.. To my liking she only did one good song.. and it was so good I can't remember it..lol.

No one will ever replace George.. I love my Conway Twitty too.. His songs make a woman weak.... sighhhhhhhhhhh

I'm back at the library for a few minutes again. I am so addicted.
I gave my neighbor, Cindy, a ride to the store this afternoon, and we stopped for a couple of margaritas at happy hour. I had never happy houred before. Next time I try it, I would like for some men to be at the bar.

Valerie, go to a sports bar for happy hour. Plenty of men there, but don't hope to get their attention unless you dress like grannie's pics. LOL

One day in a grocery store, an elderly couple (with poor eyesight I suppose) stopped me and said I looked just like Reba McIntyre (I don't).
More often I get Nicole Kidman comments.
I don't think I look much like her either.
I guess people think all redheads look alike. Next I'll be told I look like Carrot Top. YIKES!

I know who Tallulah Bankhead was -- a WILD WILD WOMAN -- very sexually diverse.
