I have to ask for prayers for my first ex-wife. I called her tonight because I wanted to check on her, as she is undergoing chemo for RA, and to get some advice on what to do about the call. She's trained in law enforcement....
She's not doing well with the chemo. I would ask that the prayer warriors here lift her to the Lord to ease her burden as she goes through chemo. And to thank her for her insight that helped with my situation.

Slick learned early on how to turn on his charisma. And turn it off too. There was a fundraiser for KetchupBrain tonight and many RATS were there. Slick gave a speech too---and started off with that smooth-talk manner. He got boring quickly though so I left.
Interesting about Brents reaction.
Gotta call it a night. See ya later!

Oh my, you are having many heavy loads to carry right now, aren't you. Sorry to hear of your ex-wifes illness and prayer being lifted asking God to strengthen her to be able to better tolerate and finish the chemo and have good benefits from it.
Nice that she could offer you some counsel on the other situation. Prayers for you both John.

I hope you are doing OK. I've missed your posts the last few days.

You're a kind man to ask for prayers for your ex-wife.I wouldn't have married her if I didn't care about her. And caring like that... transcends divorce. I'm allowed to ask for prayers, she's allowed at family funerals, we'll agree that we need more grandbabies, and that the current grandbaby needs to move back to Texas.... ;>) It's all good.

I try to hand my heavy loads to the Lord, and to His prayer warriors. The sooner I confess and let go, the better things get.
Thank you for your prayers.

:) President Bush has just finished his routine at the WH Correspondent's dinner. Excellent, I'm sniffing at the end. Very touching ending.

knowing the person is partial releif I am sureIt's everything.
I've got a whole new set of eyeballs growing in the back of my head that will have to find new work.
Now that I know the threat, I can work it. Uncertainty make me skittish, until I remember to pray, and ask for prayers.
Thanks to the thread for all of the prayers.
Now, I just need 3 or 4 months with nothing more serious than a hangnail to report. Please. I need a break. ;>)

Where is it? Is there a thread? On-base, we don't get C-SPAM or C-SPAMII. Hmmm. I'll have to ask a congresscritter about that... We do get FoxNews now... ;>)

Does your lap-top play Real Player? You can just get it from the C-Spam site. They've put it in Real Player format.
To: Utah Girl
I may do that, but later. I'm on dial-up tonight.
I have a windoze question.... What application do I use to record audio from a microphone input? I'm running XP, Home Edition.
I know... I hang my head in shame... I can roll it over to linux, and cat /dev/audio > temp.au and pipe that out to the cd rom writer, but I need something that will be compatible with every type of windoze. And doesn't take any geekage on the part of the recipient.
Long gone are the days of sending friends blocks of m-coded binary, and letting them figure out if they are supposed to be pictures, text, audio, binary, or whatever. Sigh... Those were the days.

My super duper laptop came with every gizmo know to geek-kind. Let me look here. I can dub movies and edit them and record them on this thing, surely there is something to record audio from microphone input. Back in a moment.
To: JRandomFreeper
My Dell laptop has Sigma Tel audio. I also have a voice recognition program. Wow, how cool.
Um, other than that. I now work on testing medical software, and have forgotten some of my geekiness. Is that a good excuse? :)
I also have a Roxio audio program that was a real lemon until the last upgrade a few months ago. That pretty well leaves out all versions of Windoze.
To: Utah Girl
I just checked. The line is only supporting 26.6K. I'm going to put a real modem card in this laptop that isn't a MSModem, and be able to dial up under linux. Grrr. I've got 33.3K PCMCIA modems. Somewhere.

I'm going to roll over to linux and drop the internet connection. I can record raw audio over there and specify mu-law or a-law on the command line. I'll save it to cd as raw audio that can be played on any cd player. I can do that much....
Thanks for looking.
I'm going to call it a night. God bless us all. Each, and every one.

Sorry I'm not much help. I've burned a few CDs on this laptop, but no audio input at all. Have a good night's rest.
