Well you used the term "Read my Lips" as if George W. Bush has broken a promise by trying to fulfill the promises he made while campaigning in 2000. I disagree with the Medicare Bill, but he ran on it. As far as the spending..... Yes he nees to bring it under control, and Congress needs to hear from us about this, because they are the spenders.
I hope this explains my previous comment
Yes, it does. Thank you.
I'm concerned with spending, too. But the point of my post is that Bush had better be careful about credibility issues. Most of his supporters care about old fashioned stuff like that.

They run that con again all the time. It's funny listening to a rat talk about deficits and "fiscal responsibility."

I read an interesting opinion in Zell Miller's book where he states that Art is not a luxury, it's a big part of what makes us civilized. And that there's nothing in our DNA that makes us civilized, it's things like art and education. He thinks we should spend a lot more on the arts, but then, he's a democrat. A nice democrat, but a democrat all the same.

We can't afford another rat administration. I didn't realize how much x-42 had cost us until he was gone on down the road. There are ways to make a point and express displeasure without risking a rat in the WH.

They can sign any executive order they want, but no executive order can commit the US too, and make law a treaty. All treaties must be ratified by congress.
And they mention Kyoto all the time to speak to the base.

"IF you don't vote or vote third party when you KNOW they cannot win" That's a childs circular logic. I won't vote for them 'cuz they can't win....they can't win 'cuz I won't vote for them.
"get off your high horse and pretend indignation"
Chastising others of their failed sense of duty is pretty high-horsed indignation.
Bush has screwed several things up, not me. It is certainly not my duty to support evil, whether lesser or greater. The herd does not define my duty.
My children will grind under the increasingly heavy burden of our federal government. Bush, and now you, are responsible for that.
Duty well done.

You might want to do an in forum search of Jim Robinson's comments last night about President Bush and the third party people before you start talking to me about circular logic.
And if you truly think the Democrats will be better with spending than Bush you are delusional.

"You might want to..before you start talking to me about circular logic." Articulate & brave.
I'm not debating Jim Robinson. It is you that questioned my duty, and you that holds third-party voters to blame for Bush appeal as a candidate. I'm debating you.
Find your own words.

There are ways to make a point and express displeasure without risking a rat in the WH.I agree that we can't afford another rat administration. And I don't want to risk a rat in the WH. That's why I'm worried when the folks in the WH don't seem to even notice that there's a credibility problem with the $130,000,000,000 cost increase.

"And if you truly think the Democrats will be better with spending than Bush you are delusional." Wow!! Strong argument!
Against what, I have no idea. Where did I say Democrats would do a better job of spending?
No...scratch that. You are diverting, changing the subject, I get it.....but you did get to call me delusional. That's great!

Wasn't this legislation passed by Congress? (albeit signed and supported by the President) Weren't the numbers from the CBO?
To: laotzu
I posted YOUR comments to me and they don't make sense. I don't get your sentence structure. Not grammatically correct and that may be part of the problem.

Wasn't this legislation passed by Congress? (albeit signed and supported by the President) Weren't the numbers from the CBO?Yes, it was passed by congress. And, yes, the original numbers were from the CBO. That said, everyone knows this was Bush's bill. He pressed hard for it. It was regarded as his victory. Cost was a major issue. And the $400 billion figure is the figure Bush gave.

Both are alphabet voters.
