one reason why our Soldiers volunteer to spend time in Hell facing demons, to defend a child who loves dragonflies.

Dear Rags,

I appreciate and Honor our Military for that reason. I love being an American where I have this freedom.
Thank You for your lovely words. We welcome you into The Dragon Flies' Lair to read or write as you please.

Freedom isn't free. Much blood is shed to keep this blessing.

The Sun Poem

The sun in the morning.
Like a protective mother she rises and brings warmth to everything she touches.
Artists try to harness her beauty, scientists study to find her secrets.
Every being feels more alive when she is there, sad when she is shrouded by a cloud.
She leaves each day with a promise to return that is never broken.

Lovely poem about the sun and so true. I always feel much better when it's shining. Thank you Sam.

Now on to the music for today.

Quote for the day:

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in
the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine.

~This and That~

When using the first pay telephone, a caller did not deposit his coins in the machine. He gave them to an attendant who stood next to the telephone. Coin telephones did not appear until 1899.

And there you were again
On night's wings
Angels brought you to me
You walked away
But then you turned
At last, in my arms
Your kiss sweet as always
Burning its way to my heart
Morning then stole you
I weep

Good evening to you!

I've had a very quiet weekend. I've been off the computer most of the time (I had a five-day weekend that's ending tonight).

Thank you for your kind words - as you might imagine, I had a visit from a friendly angel last night. The holidays were good, the food was wonderful and Santa brought good things to the kids. So, all is well!

I was going to post a poem to you, howeve, it's much different from your genre. Would you like to see it?

Absolutely! I just hope my genre doesn't become known as "gloomy". Egad. :)

our ancestors insight
moulded together
a loving cup of pride
and conquered a people
who glitter like the sands of heaven...

This is very nice!

What was the genesis of this poem, if you don't mind my asking?
