Tell me, are those large, wide-set ears or is he just curious at something? And it looks like he has small paws, is that right?

I don't think his ears are really wide set. He doesn't move them much unless he is mad. He loves it if I rub inside his ears. I've never had a cat that liked that before. But, I've never had one that couldn't hear before. His paws are normal size I think for an eight month old. His eyes have gotten really gold. Sometimes he looks like an owl..

Nice Balloon!!

Your cat is Siamese. Good. If orange cats are the smartest of felines, they ought to be a great match.

He talks when he finds himself alone. He will freak out until someone comes to find him. He talks sometimes but mostly he purrs and chortles.

Oh he is so precious. That is the sweetest little face. It looks as though DC in one picture is lecturing him on how to act and Troubles rapt attention. He is soooooooo tiny!

Why do you think he is Siamese? His sister looked like a Calico. Like the one tickling the toes of the guy in the picture you posted. Also, he is too sweet to be a Siamese.

He is very tiny. His eyes have one mode, BIG!

It's like having a baby in the house. . . LOL!

Talk to him. It will get him to talk more. Our Siamese stray is the latest of four female strays that make up our cat family. She came in at about 16 weeks of age talking up a blue streak. Now all the cats talk somewhat and it's gotten so we get the gist of what they're saying. Perhaps ever more interesting, from our little conversations it is impossible not to notice they've developed an amazingly large vocabulary, reacting to things people say before they realzed they said it.

All of my cats are talkers. It's because I talk to them like they are people. I'm going to be the crazy lady on the hill with all the cats someday... But only so many that they don't stink..

Little Trouble hasn't stopped talking since Tuesday. He is very vocal. I'm surprised how vocal DC is since he can't hear, but I know he feels vibrations. He also knows some sign language now. He knows, "No" & "Good Boy"...

Pear shaped feet is the clincher. Very few breeds had them. The ears, ditto, and most of those other breeds are Siamese related, anyway. The shape of the head, a cross between an apple-head and a wedge-head. And the body shape, conformation, and his movements. Baby in the house nails it. You are very lucky. My Merle was part Siamese, small body, spider legs - what a boy.

This is our youngest, Sam:

What a great photo! Siamese cats always creeped me out when I was growing up. If DC is Siamese, I would change my mind about them.

Exactly! It's amazing how much they can learn.

Just tell people you're a Felix Vulgaris psycho-physiologist and are writing a technical journal. They'll probably think you said something offensive and will go away.

Consider your mind changed.

Mine is and I am sold. They are wonderful companions and if you're a good bud to them they'll be solid sidekicks. I can't quite put my thumb on it at the moment, but my Siamese and part Siamese seemed almost part dog. Maybe it's because they were less aloof.

Well DC seems to be more dog than cat. He is not aloof at all. Just sweetness. Right now I have him and Trouble on my lap. DC is kissing Trouble and letting him sleep.

Hey NN, where is that classic photo of DC and Isis with the Viking Kitties???

Has he learned to use the potty yet? We had a Manx that used the toliet. He trained himself. He waw the most finicky cat I have ever known. He wouldn't touch any catfood only human and always had to have exactly what we had, even down to the vegetables.

He was the second Manx that owned my son and myself. The first was a female - she had an affair with a persian and a siamese. The kittens from those matings were gorgeous. Have you ever seen a persian with no tail? Beauty was a beauty. We just had to keep hiney trimmed!

DC has the slender long legs of a siamese and the eyes are somewhat slanted and he has a nice long whippet tail.

Don't tell DC, but I think he is a very handsome cat!

I love the pics of him on VC's shoulder and your shoulder! He has already decided that he controls VC, hasn't he?
