Thanksgiving Wish
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!!

LoL cute poem. Listening to the tunes as I type.
Really like "Hello Stranger," a golden oldie.

A National Forest in Oregon.
Click the map.

Well...
I wrote it more as an allegorical fiction story on how I ended up in NY state.
And ever since it's been a huge joke for me.

This area is south of SAM but all of Oregon looks pretty doesn't it?

Once upon a time.....
In the firehouse the "guys" are busy prepping the bird,
when a call comes out for "smoke at Elm St and 3rd".
On goes the gear and in the truck they climb,
Sirens and lights while making the best time.
"Engine 11 is on the scene" the Captain tells dispatch,
Off go the firefighters hoping to make a quick catch.
With hose in hand they run through the door,
only to see people and chairs galore.
Into the kitchen they now make their way,
what a sight to see with nothing to say.
Housewife standing by the counter and a tall smokey wisp,
and there in the roaster is a turkey, burned to a crisp.
A blushing woman and a hearty laugh by "the guys",
they put a fan in the door and blow the smoke to the skies.
A quick huddle with the Captain and a plan is soon laid,
to invite the whole house to share the food the station has made.
Everyone heads out to get their cars, trucks and a van,
to the station they go, down to the last man.
Loud, boisterous talk, children running there and here,
and a Thanksgiving meal which gave everyone good cheer.
A charred bird, and an embarassed wife who thought she'd die,
were quickly forgotten with a slice of pumpkin pie. By David K.

GOOD EVENING ALL AT THE DRAGON FLIES LAIR.
Thank you ms. feather for the gorgeous slide show of Oregon's forests and mountains. It's no wonder our resident Wolf loves it out there so much! *grin*

Oh my, this Dragon fly is gorgeous. Did you see the one snippy posted last night? You two keep spoiling me with these beautiful creatures.
I like this slide site very much, they send me new links often.
Sam sure does live in a beautiful state.
