Isn't it "For UNLAWFUL Carnal Knowledge" ?
I choose Eat Em and Smile. IMO Tobacco Road was masterful. Honestly, VH songs historically have been knock-offs. Some of their best stuff is old R&B material. True, Hagar brought his song writing abilities to Van Hagar but what can you say about a song dedicated to aliens? And speaking of Hagar taking a musical que from others, will someone tell me why Hagar hasn't been sued by Gary Glitter's people for stealing Rock And Roll for Hagar's Mash Tequila? Same music!

There is no Van Halen without David Lee Roth. Precisely. Now it's just the cheap knockoff, Van Hagar.

I'm just listening to "Dark Side of the Moon" ...what do I know? And on a related note, Pink Floyd stopped being Pink Floyd when Roger Waters left. After that, it was just Pink Gilmour with a Buttload of Studio Musicians.

Diamond Dave is missing some hairs on his head but is in great shape for his age. Martial arts etc.
He's Jewish/ born in Roxbury Massachussets.

Van Hagar was sluggo, dreadfully dull, Mud Rock.
Texas Stadium, 1979-80: Van Halen II. Dave was the star of the show. All over the place, told jokes (that were actually funny), rebel yells, drank booze from the bottle. Wore those red and white striped pants. THAT was a show.
Oh, yeah, and the band backed him up, too.
When Dave left, he took the cajones with him.

Van Halen's video "Dreams", featuring the Blue Angels, is the best video of all time.

I think they stopped being Pink Floyd when they came out with that dreadful Final Cut. The only good thing to come off of that album was Gilmour singing Not Now John. The new Floyd is what you describe but The Division Bell is awesome IMHO.
Van Halen without Roth just isn't right but methinks Dave has gone a little off the deep end. I would rather have fond memories of the good ole days (as a previous poster said, Fair Warning is as good as it gets) than see geezers trying to recapture their youth and our bucks.

Pink Floyd stopped being Pink Floyd when Roger Waters left. I agree completely. It ain't Floyd without Roger.
After that, it was just Pink Gilmour with a Buttload of Studio Musicians.
Actually, it was Gilmour, Wright and Mason with a bunch of studio musicians. Not bad, but not Floyd.
I told a friend who was excited about their late 1980s tour, "Sorry, but it isn't Pink Floyd. It should be called the 'Three Guys Who Used to be in Pink Floyd' Tour, but please don't think this is Pink Floyd." Of course, they were still better than 99.9999% of the acts out there. And Gilmour's playing during that time was incredible.

WWMD?
What would Motorhead do?
To: pdunkin
"The Final Cut" had it's moments. "The Gunner's Dream" is quite good. But it isn't really a Pink Floyd album. It is a Roger Waters album. Rick Wright wasn't in the band at that time, and Gilmour only played a few tracks. Even Nick Mason was pushed aside for most of the album because Waters found a studio drummer he liked better.
Gilmour has even said that it got to the point that he told Waters, "If you need a guitar part, let me know," and left the studio for weeks at a time. Floyd was long over by then.
The last true Pink Floyd album was "Animals."

Saw Van Halen at teh Rapid City Civic Center when I wat stationed at Ellsworth AFB back in the early 80's. Band pretty much blew a hole in the roof it was so powerful.
I like Sammy Hagar. But I do not associate him with VH even though he spent some time there. DLR is the front man. Sammy should stick to the Jimmy Buffet lifestyle, make a few more appearances on Emeril Live and ramp up the octane on that Cabo Wabo tokillya.

My "Live in Rio" DVD just arrived yesterday... I'll be sitting down to watch it this weekend (along with my Ext Ed Two Towers DVD... No other plans, other than the Chiefs/Raiders game... That should take up the entire weekend!)

Well, maybe... Waters had the vision, Gilmour has the talent. I'm not saying that RW isn't talented, but he's simply not in the same league as DG. Rick Wright and Nick Mason are both terribly underated for both their contributions to Pink Floyd, and as musicians in general.
I think that The Wall concert was more than a little insulting to them, in the way that they were "replaced" (the whole band, actually... I think that Waters was saying to the audience, "you don't really know us, so here are some "imitations") on stage.
Waters has an ego the size of the wall they built on that tour. Gilmour has far less ego, but far more talent to back it up.
