"the fact that the aircraft hit obliquely (at a 45 degree angle to the wall)"
This was wording taken off a site that analyzes the Flight 77 impact on the Pentagon. The guy gets into some odd theories and what not, but the part about the plane hitting at an oblique angle seems without dispute by anyone.
Could it be that "oblique" in the message we've been dissecting is simply the code word for the Pentagon?

It's possible - but I don't think they stand a chance of hitting the Pentagon again. The latest string of messages seem to focus on Manhattan - IMO.

Are the financial markets open tomorrow for Veteran's day? It seems to me Al Qaeda will not strike Manhattan tomorrow if many workers are on holiday. The government offices will be closed, does anyone have any estimate what percentage of private sector will be working?

The Stock Exchange is open, the banks and government buildings are closed. Most law firms and private corporations are also open. It's a shame that Veteran's Day is not honored the way it once was.
To: freeperfromnj
Thanks, that's what I thought. So terrorists could strike tomorrow, just not likely government buildings. Also, if there is a bio-chem attack tomorrow would be ok too, given the residual effect of anthrax or something similar will linger in the air.
My dad closes his office for Veteran's Day, one of the few in private sector that still do.

It seems like AQ is saying that the threatened attacks are designed to be destructive to entire cities, rather than certain buildings. I don't think it would matter to them if it was a workday.

Oh Laz, I'm so glad you're here to break the tension. This whole thing is creeping me out.

Yeah, I keep reading this thread and links and think to myself is this a jihadi wet dream or for real. Guess we'll find out by the end of Ramadan. Considering the historical significance of this Ramadan (double eclipse) you would think terrorists would try to scrap something together. At least the crazies who believe in the return of the "Mahadi".

Cities close to the 36th parallel include; Los Vegas, Los Alamos, Tulsa, Nashville, Raliegh. Cities close to the 25th parallel include only one; Miami.
Just some food for thought.

I think it is almost guaranteed that they will try something. Whether they succeed or not is another matter. My guess is that they have attacks on several cities in the works- built in redundancy- if several attacks fail, one succeeds. That is why I would think that all attacks would take place at the same time.BTW- Heading up Jersey tpke and over Washington Bridge in a few hours.

Speaking of lineals in 'Hours' is an age old nautical reference and generally refer to Longitude not Latitude.

Oh, no! all the cities we looked at were based on latitude.
Now we all have to go and research longitude!
Thanksfor the extra homework, Teach.
