I'm saying I had NEVER heard of McClintock, the people I've spoken to had never heard of McCintock until he filed for Governor. So yes, TOTAL LACK OF RECOGNITION matters when you are running for GOVERNOR of the largest state in our country.

Ok, so you admit you'd never heard of the guy until he filed. So most other people you had talked to hadn't either. Again, so what? Your study isn't scientific nor wide-ranging I imagine, so what does it prove? It proves that his advertising campaign hadn't gotten to you, yet, is all. And I really see nothing wrong with anyone (even those people YOU hadn't heard of) running for public office. The converse of that is a bit silly, don't you think? (And how many people advertise before they file? Hint: not many!)
