Abdul El-Sayed blasted his Michigan Senate race opponent Mike Rogers, labeling him a “coward” after the former congressman and other Republicans launched Islamophobic attacks against El-Sayed after his victory in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
“Mike Rogers should never see the inside of the U.S. Senate,” El-Sayed told MS NOW’s Jacob Soboroff on Wednesday, adding, “His ideas are old, his perspective on politics is old — and he’s going to find that people don’t want that perspective anymore. So, of course he’s going to do the same thing that MAGA always does, which is try to divide us.”
El-Sayed, a physician, also addressed criticism from other Republicans, including Vice President JD Vance. On Wednesday, Vance said on Fox News, “He’s this guy who holds himself out as a working-class hero, as a guy who’s going to fight for the working class. How does he fight for the working class? By flooding his state and his country with low-wage immigrants.”
“I think we’ve had enough of him,” El-Sayed said of the vice president, adding that the “last thing that he said that made any sense” was in 2016, when he criticized Donald Trump’s presidential bid.
“That was the last time he made sense, and then he decided to suck up to power,” he told Soboroff.
El-Sayed said he does not believe Republicans’ divisive approach reflects the state that he and Rogers were born and raised in, arguing, “I know that Michiganders are open-minded. They’re big-hearted. They’re less interested in how you pray than what you pray for.”
“And we all pray for the same things,” he added.

I am a proud Islamaphobic.
“We all pray for the same thing”. I don’t think so. I’ve never prayed for dead Christians or Jews. Islam does.
A phobia is an unreasonable or unwarranted fear. It is neither unwarranted nor unreasonable to fear a Socio political system masquerading as a religion, which demands that its adherents dominate, enslave or kill you if you reject it.
Ditto
I’m sorry Abdul, but it’s good for my health that I AM Islamophobic.
What do you have to say about the millions of Christians, Jews, Budhists, and atheists murdered, raped, and enslaved by the followers of Islam?
I’m tired of Islam.
Islam is nothing more than pedophilia dressed up with religion
The guy’s got the it factor. Rodgers has his hands full. The socialist has a quick wit and can think on his feet. Are Michiganders wise enough to see through him? We got 90 days. Gonna be interesting.
Liberty is an old idea.
It is the basic principal upon which this nation was founded.
But Liberty is an anathema to the pinkos.
Yet, it’s OK to be an anti-Semite.
It seems to me that Rodgers has plenty of material to work with in his ads without ever touching Islam. Just working his way through the DSA platform points and all of Piker’s proclamations endorsing el-Sayed should be adequate to draw a bright line that points to Rodgers as the right candidate.
It is MS Now. Yawn.
“Islamaphobic” is the new “Racist” for Democrats now that “Racist” has lost much of its punch due to overuse ... Dems now try to play the “Islamaphobic” Card instead of the “Racist” Card ...
Since Islam is by its own rules hostile to all non-Muslims, non-Muslims should be Islamophobic.
you can already see where this campaign is going, any criticism of the Muslim will be met with charges of racism and Islamophobia.
Islamic Law is a Law of Rape. We now have brutal evidence of Muslim Grooming Gangs raping hundreds of thousands of white girls in the UK.
This horror has been going on since the beginning of Islam. Further background information at the link.

Anyone who backs the propagation of Islam is a rape-enabler.
Well, Abdul, your religion has developed a certain reputation that makes it an issue. If you were, for example, a Baptist, no one would be making a point of it because Baptists are not associated with bombings, beheadings, mass casualty events, or creating backward, oppressive societies.
