Dan Abrams GOES OFF on TX Senate Candidate James Talarico for Falsely Saying Cops Acquitted in 2019 Case ‘Murdered’ a Man: ‘Those Cops Should Sue!’

Dan Abrams verbally pummeled Texas Senate candidate James Talarico (D) for branding two police officers murderers, even though they were acquitted in the case the liberal lawmaker cited.

The Mediaite founder criticized Talarico and even suggested the cops should sue him on the Thursday episode of his SiriusXM radio show. Abrams was responding to comments Talarico made at a town hall event where he was asked about reparations for Black Americans and a crime bill; Talarico answered by pointing to his involvement with a high-profile local case where a Black man died after being tased by police.

“I had a constituent of mine murdered by the police. His name was Javier Ambler. He was an unarmed Black man who was pulled over for not dimming his brights,” Talarico said. “He told the officers that night that he had a heart condition. They tased him so many times that he died right in front of them.”

Talarico continued, “The whole thing was filmed for a reality TV show called Live PD. It’s kind of like Cops… these programs encourage more violent violent interactions between law enforcement and their constituents — particularly their Black constituents.”

Abrams, who hosted Live PD and now hosts On Patrol Live, played the clip for his audience and then went scorched earth on Talarico — accusing him of blatantly warping the facts.

“There is so much in that comment that is untrue,” Abrams said. “The police officers involved in the situation with Javier Ambler were not charged, were not indicted until the George Floyd incident happened. And then suddenly the case was re-evaluated. They looked at it again and they ended up trying the four officers for manslaughter. . . . All of them were acquitted.” Abrams clarified that two officers were tried for manslaughter and two others charged in connection with the case.

Abrams continued, “Those cops should sue James Talarico for saying that they murdered Javier Ambler. It’s a lie.”

He continued by filling in the details Talarico left out. Abrams pointed out Ambler was initially pulled over for not dimming his lights, but Talarico left out a key detail: Ambler then led cops on a 22 minute chase.

“There’s now a new crime. When police pull you over and you take them on a pursuit and put all sorts of people’s lives at risk, you’ve got a new crime,” Abrams said. “So that’s totally dishonest from Talarico.” But maybe most importantly, he highlighted that the jury clearly believed that Ambler’s underlying medical condition was at least partially to blame for his death.

“He says he died from the taser. Well, it’s not what the jury thought,” Abrams said. “He had an underlying medical condition.”

He said the cops were “very quickly acquitted” when the case went to trial in 2024, five years after the incident and two years after the cops were charged. Abrams said the whole ordeal had become an “embarrassment” for prosecutors — and was another reason it was a terrible example for Talarico to use.

He took particular offense to Talarico’s suggestion that the cameras lead to more violence against minorities and insisted it was false to suggest there was any research to back it up.

“They weren’t interested in this case until the George Floyd incident happened, and he says ‘Oh, they’ve found an enormous amount of research on how there’s more violence, particularly against people of color, when there are cameras around.’ That’s not true,” Abrams said. He then added that when Live PD started in many media interviews he was asked the opposite, if the cops were going to be too good, “on their best behavior.”

Abrams wrapped the segment by saying the cops can’t win reiterating, “Talarico should be ashamed of these comments and those cops should sue him!”

Sue him? For what? James Talarico is a man of the cloth! A man of God! Why would he lie?

(/sarcasm)

I'm serious about a man of the cloth! Kind of like the cloth sheets in a whorehouse.

They said the same about the “Reverend” Jim Jones, when he served on the San Francisco Housing Board.

James Talarico is a DNC stink bomb diversion thrown into a meeting hall to cause disruption, confusion, chairs kicked over, people fleeing every direction.

Meanwhile the real battle is being waged out of sight and off the radar.

The RNC has greatly benefited Talarico’s campaign by spending almost $90 million in the primary portraying Paxton as corrupt and immoral in an attempt to save incumbent Cornyn. For the RNC, it is more important to save an incumbent in the primary than to win in the general.

The RNC didn't spend a cent on that primary. The NRSC may have - the makeup of that committee are the incumbent Republican Senators.
