Watch live as SpaceX debuts the latest version of its revolutionary Starship launcher on the 12th test flight for the program. Liftoff of the Version 3 integrated Starship vehicle from a new launch pad at Starbase in Texas is scheduled during a launch window that opens at 5:30 p.m. CDT / 6:30 p.m. EDT / 2230 UTC on Thursday, May 21.
The mission will see splashdowns of the Super Heavy booster (Booster 19) in the Gulf of Mexico and the Starship upper stage (Ship 39) in the Indian Ocean.
The Starship upper stage will deploy 20 Starlink simulators, similar in size to next-generation Starlink V3 satellites, and two specially modified Starlink satellites that will attempt to beam back imagery of Starship's thermal tiles.
Our live coverage, hosted by Will Robinson-Smith, will begin two hours before launch. He will be joined by Stephen Clark, a space reporter at Ars Technica and Micah Maidenberg, reporter at The Wall Street Journal.
Camera support from our friends at Avid Space @LabPadre and C & J Images.

Big. Big big.
This is a test.
Both the Starship and the SuperHeavy Booster are the next iterations of the vehicles. Some things may go wrong. Some things will succeed. It is a test.
Whatever happens, it is so exciting, and never gets old, to watch what appears to be a New York skyscraper rise into the heavens.
Where was that again?
Huh. Never heard of the place.
Never heard of it
“Will Robinson-Smith”
Wait a minute. What?
I’d be surprised if it doesn’t go extremely well.
I’ll also be surprised if does. 😁
They’ve been right at it building the second “stage zero” at Starbase, and building their first “stage zero” at the Cape. Infrastructure is getting built and apparently (at least in Texas) getting stocked.
My guess is, if this one performs satisfactorily, the next two launches will be on deck before the end of July. SH 20 and 21 are already mostly built, no reason for that otherwise.
Obviously a clone of the original Will Robinson and Dr Smith!
I rate it 70% chance of accomplishing mission goals. Not all perfect but successful enough to provide data for further hardware & program testing and improvements.
With a new ship & booster, fingers crossed. 🤞
one my laptop i got nasaspaceflight live stream, on my phone spaceflight now, and on my tablet i have spacex live stream.
think i got too much going on??
Did they mean Gulf of America?
Thought so! 😛
You tube = google = leftist activism
I see the rocket. It is sitting there, that’s a good sign...as in not rolled back in.
think i got too much going on??
Too Much? No WAY! Just enough!
In fact, do you have a medium or large screen television?
Is Will Robinson still in danger?
I really hate they have to lose both the booster and ship. But can’t risk a bad publicity accident over land with new equipment; plus I imagine there are regulatory approvals necessary for attempting recovery at Starbase.
IMO, "Everyday Astronaut" has better coverage of the flight because he streams the SpaceX video feed including SpaceX audio during launch on his channel. Going directly to SpaceX site can be tricky because of high volume traffic and delays accessing their site. For this reason I watch the Everyday Astronaut's live feed on Youtube: Watch the first Starship V3 launch for Flight 12! (Everyday Astronaut's channel on Youtube)
IMPORTANT: The live feed of this channel doesn't start until 2:30PM PACIFIC TIME !!!!!
i would love to hookup my tv to the laptop no hdmi port on this old t430 thinkpad :-(
