By now it looks like the SAVE Act has two chances of getting passed - slim and none. John Thune found every creative trick to engineer the GOP's usual Surender Theater to the Democrats, despite Voter ID being a bipartisan 80/20 issue. Thom Tillis shoved voters' noses in it by hosting a "Doggie Gras" on Capitol Hill, and when he got pushback simply sneered at us that he could "walk and chew gum at the same time."
And Tillis now supports James Comey. Because of course he does.
Democrat Lisa Murkowski, 50/50 Susan Collins (who is sadly the best we can get in Maine), and whoever is changing Cocaine Mitch's Depends these days all voted against this common sense measure as well. Down in Texas, Senator John Cornyn is learning that “Trust me, I’m lying” doesn’t work like it used to.
What does all of this tell us? These Vichy Republicans genuinely enjoying telling us Normals to go (copulate) ourselves. On a recent episode of his daily show, Steven Crowder broadcast the phone number to Thune's office to encourage his viewers to call and demand passage of the SAVE Act. While I'd normally encourage such efforts and list the phone number here, I'm not because I doubt this tactic is doing any good. In fact, I can see Thune taking pride in how many calls he can generate that he can ignore. At this point, save for a primary every six years, the Senate has become an almost completely unaccountable body. So what can be done? I'm going to preface what I'm about to propose that this is A VERY BAD IDEA. If you have any doubt as to whether the proposal you're about to read is bad or not, I'll preface by saying I got the idea from the Democrats. But we live in interesting times, and it's time to think creatively.
When President Trump left office in 2020, there was a coordinated effort to harass people who had served in his administration. Specifically, thir new employers were subjects of harassment campaigns to get them fired. Sadly, I didn't bookmark any of them, and I can't find them now. One example I can find is the disbarment of John Eastman for... representing President Trump. Remember the days when massive law firms were providing pro bono representation to terrorists and we were reminded how John Adams defended the Redcoats after The Boston Massacre? Ah, the good old days. But I digress.
What if us Normals decided to employ this tactic? Of course, these Senators are untouchable. But members of their staff aren't. I'm sure that a quick search of these Senators' web sites will turn up a few names. From there, one can simply go to LinkedIn and plug in the names of these Congresscritters in the Search field and see who turns up. And why not stop there? When the White House Ballroom became the outrage du jour of The Radical Left, Hakeem Jeffries decided to threaten... the private donors who paid for it. Yes, instead of thanking donors for saving taxpayer dollars, Temu Obama threatened these good folks. Of course, The New Republic wasted no time in listing the 37 companies who donated. So why can't we use this same principle with the Senators' top donors, whether companies or individuals? A quick search of Opensecret.org can provide a clear list of who's financing these traitors.
Will this stop those Senators from their mischief? Short answer: No. These tactics remind me of the Iraq War, when terrorists would kidnap low level contractors, journalists, etc, and film an accompanying hostage video. The script was always the same - demands for an immediate withdrawal of all forces by a certain deadline, and when it never happened, a follow up snuff film of their execution was released. The intent of this tactic was never to achieve an immediate victory, but rather to weaken an enemy over time by making the low level support personnel needed for any operation reluctant to join an effort.

yes
I wish we could go literally nuclear on washington. Every. Last. One.
I want Thune, and any other opposing SAVE to be bounced!
This cycle, or the next, or the next,......
Yep, first up is Cornyn. Time to retire him, might send a message to Thune and his cohorts in the Senate.
Occam’s Razor leads me to conclude that these “Republicans” are actually Democrats (outside of liking tax cuts). There was a lot of evidence for that even before Trump came along. Now it’s undeniable.
“Yep, first up is Cornyn. Time to retire him, might send a message to Thune and his cohorts in the Senate”.
Definitely agree with all that!
Thune is Daschle in a dress.
We bagged several in the Indiana Senate. Now we need to do the same in the South Carolina Senate and of course, Ratburger and various other RINOs around the country. Prying the Republican party away from the corrupt Establishment and making it a true opposition party was never going to be a quick process.
Here’s to hoping and praying enough of us…both dems and reps…..see the BS from both sides in DC and bounce their asses back to where they hell they came from in November!
“Hopefully, we can bag Lindsey Graham this cycle”
Eeeeeeewwwwww!!!!!
No bag needed.
The guy goes bareback.
The U.S. Senate is a den of vipers. Senate terms should be shortened to four years to reduce their arrogance to popular will.
Sadly, I think you may be right!!
Thune and all his cowardly, backstabbing allies in treachery need to be primaries out.
And the report that there will be a government shutdown before the election which of course the Democrats are going to do that.
The filibuster has to come to an end the Democrats can do a lot of damage when they are in complete power but then that’s up to the people to reverse it.
Linsey Graham needs to be bounced. He’s been a stain on south carolina forever. He’s south Carolinas turtle. I dont know who to vote for but it wont be him.
I consider the SAVE act as with most federal legislation to be a sideshow. Real reform would be for state to incorporate audit controls at each stage of the election process. Like how companies handle receipts and payments of money. Especially for the mail in processes as they are centralized and as we know very easily corrupted. Batch collection, recording with signoffs and then wai for it..... The penalty If the election commissions fail audit at any of the processes the votes just don’t count. period. That will fix it.
It’s rare these days that some of the free independents actually find a comment on this place where it’s an absolute fact.
And your comment is factual.
A question is. Did anyone notice when the “federal government” was shut down?
Getting rid of the “nor loch” would shut it down.
shutting down the government would give us all a break. The IRS can shut down permanently.
You are correct.
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDAThere's no question the Democrats are communist. How do communists infiltrate? Do they start at the grassroots level? No. They infiltrate leadership to reshape the organization against the will of its membership.IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963
Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following Current Communist Goals, which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist", by Cleon Skousen:
[From "The Naked Communist", by Cleon Skousen]
CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
#15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
Now you know why Democrats are the way they are and why GOP leadership ignores their constituents.
