Trump calls on conservative media outlets to stop making ‘moron’ Bill Maher 'relevant'

President Trump tore into comedian Bill Maher in a Truth Social post late Saturday.

"I hate seeing Fox, and other Conservative Outlets, constantly making Low Rated Bill Maher 'relevant' as it pertains to the Republican Party, and beyond. Bill Maher is a weak and ineffective person who I got to know very well during my dinner with him at the White House," he wrote.

Trump referenced California Gov. Gavin Newsom's recent appearance on Maher's HBO show.

"Maher was defenseless, and totally deficient. Either he didn’t have the knowledge, or he choked, because Gavin went on and on about how good California is doing, while it’s doing very poorly, having, by far, the worst year it’s ever had where, for the first time in History, more people are leaving than coming," Trump wrote.

"Bill Maher started by saying that California was doing poorly, only to have Newscum speak for an extended period of time, and lie about the facts," he added.

Trump named homelessness, the "railway catastrophe" and the "inability to rebuild the 25,000 homes that were destroyed by the fire" as major issues in the state.

"Fox should stop putting this person on. He’s not representing us. You look weak, stupid, and ineffective, and I hate seeing that. DON’T USE BILL MAHER ANY LONGER AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOU! I hate hearing that 'Bill Maher said…' — Bill Maher is a MORON, though slightly more talented than Jimmy Kimmel," he wrote.

He’s probably doing Maher a favor to help him keep his liberal audience.

Thank you, I’ve been saying this for a long time. For every “conservative” thing he says, he expresses a million lib ideas. And it gets him quoted on these sites more often than conservatives. I could go the rest of my life not hearing this idiot spout off. It’s right up there with hearing what Joy Behar thinks.

Trump is wrong here. Yes, Bill Maher is a liberal. And sometimes he’s sickening.

But Maher will often surprise on the upside. For one thing, he will accept no excuses for Islamic terror. And if someone on his show tries, Maher will shut him down fast.

Maher reaches an audience that would otherwise hear nothing but 100% woke nonsense. In that, he’s doing some good.

You gotta admit that his jokes take no deep thought to understand. Then there’s the times when he’ll pin the dems down with an inconvenient truth and just as quickly he makes a flippant comment about the other side. Make no mistake. He’s one of them only smarter and able to think on his feet quick-like. Give him that.

But his bread is buttered with liberals. Conservatives will not watch his show, no matter what he says.

But it also demonstrates why it’s impossible to be “in the middle” these days, because if you are, both sides will go gunning for you. It’s why we will never get a viable third party off the ground.

You have to do it like Trump did, try to take over one of the two parties, but I question if long-term if it will work, or it’s right back to “Business As Usual” when Trump leaves the scene.

I really don’t get Trump sometimes. Him lashing out at Maher or Kimmel isn’t going to hurt them and actually helps them. And because it doesn’t hurt them, it makes him look weak and impotent, or at least puts them on his level. He needs to stop going on social media to comment on TV hosts. Its beneath him.

He's more of a commentator than a vomedian.

Maher is 1000% more conservative than the best of his peers, which makes him, generously speaking, about 10% conservative.

That’s his shtick. The Islamic terror is a no brainer. Buys us nothing.

If he doesn’t lash out at them who on our side will?

Yes. And conservatives shouldn’t watch his show. Too often it’s bad for the blood pressure. I don’t watch him, except for the occasional clip on YouTube.

But something just occurred to me. Trump’s denouncing of Maher might motivate more liberals to watch his (Maher’s) show. And that’s a relatively good thing. As I noted earlier, Maher will often say sensible, non-woke things.

He’s way better than the Rachel Maddow types.

Could Trump be playing 4-D chess here?

Maher probably called Trump up and said, “Thanks!”

The Thune bunch is waiting it out for Trump's departure. I would guess they already have their claws into the next candidates. Although those candidates might not be totally aware of it yet.

They have their ways. They have already tainted the MAGA with their insidious stink.Getting people to accept things that are their brand and labeling it as MAGA is one of their ways.

Well if that happens, the Republicans will become as irrelevant as the Tories in Britain are today.

Maher is the proverbial blind squirrel that finds a nut once in a while. Believe me, there no love lost at all for Maher from me, and I disagree with him on nearly just about every position he has.

That said, he is offering his side one token piece of advice upon which he is correct: Stop being so radical and come back to the center before you destroy everything.

Ironically enough, the one position he has upon which he is correct is the very same position the rest of his cohort will reject.

The republicans are well on their way to that destination. These republicans have nothing to offer or attract voters. They are all talk but have a record of a million excuses as to why they can never deliver.

Thune, like McConnell, cares only about preserving the party and they don’t care if that means always losing. Everyone needs a boogieman and they are quite content to play that role for the democrats as long as the pay is good.

They seem to really despise us and the feeling is mutual.

Ok. Please stop trying to make Kimmel relevant too.
