The amount of investment being put into Ai makes no sense until the end goal is replacing—not supplementing—replacing ALL labor. That is what Musk is talking about. Whatever you do today to make money eventually will little to know value because all labor will be performed by intelligent machines. This is what they are aiming for, whether you believe it will happen or not.

No value that it is. Though it is a clever play on words given the topic.

If the R’s and D’s can’t replace the Forgotten man with the foreign man, they will with the Robot or other tech.

Always the plan. There is a shift in the economy that people cannot comprehend. The human aspect of work will be phased out in many sectors. Why do you think tech bros aligned with Trump? The advancements in tech is so fast that many areas of human work will be lessened.

That is point of the billions and billions in spending by companies to tech advancements; eliminate costs and the human edge in work.

We have our government joining forces with powerful groups that want to eliminate the human inefficiency, good luck.

That is in fact The Plan, and recent studies show AI literally collapsing the economy in all scenarios.

Who’s gonna buy stuff if no one has a job?

So to prevent mass rioting and rebellion, the suggestion is to send some scraps from the table down to The Little People. Or cattle, which is probably a more likely view they have of us.

And remember kiddies, the money to develop all this keen stuff came from Da Guvamint! Ta keep us Safe!

The new age of plenty will far exceed the current age of plenty we live in.

AI and robots will produce everything eventually, including themselves. It will be an interesting time to live. Getting there will likely be a bit bumpy though.

This is a scenario my nephew and I talked about decades ago, but I have a darker take on it.

Yes, machines will eventually be able to do pretty much everything people can do, and we will need very few people to manage the machines.

The rest of humanity will be a parasite class, and over time, the leadership is going to wonder why they put up with these "useless eaters."

And that doesn't even consider if the machines decide to get rid of the people!

People should have some serious misgivings about the direction we are going. It's not like we haven't had many movies (Like Terminator) warning us about what could happen.
