Slovenian Parliament Speaker Calls for NATO Exit Referendum

President of the Slovenian National Assembly Zoran Stevanović has announced plans to pursue a referendum on Slovenia’s potential withdrawal from NATO.

Stevanović, leader of Resnica.ca (Party of Truth), confirmed the initiative in remarks reported by the Slovenian press, stating that the proposal is part of a broader commitment to a more independent and sovereign foreign policy approach.

“I promised the citizens a referendum on exiting NATO, and we will organize this referendum,” Stevanović said. He added that Slovenia should regain control over its strategic decisions, arguing that “Ljubljana must become the center of decisions for Slovenia, not Brussels.”

His comments come shortly after his appointment as parliamentary speaker following recent elections in which liberal parties failed to secure a clear majority.

Regardless, the World Stage is such that every country must depend only upon itself. The Britain that went to war with the Nazis in defense of Poland is gone. That Britain can't even defend itself.

Other NATO countries should take notice as they've all depended upon the United States to pay their bills and fight their battles.

Slovenia is putting very little money towards defense. Leaving NATO, especially with only 2.1 million people, will make it even harder. They must be considering another option, because they can’t protect themselves. The EU will not protect them either, and the EU will be forced to have far greater requirements than NATO.

The point is that Britain took a stand and went to war for the right cause. They were fighting that war for 2 years before the USA got in. That Britain no longer exists and, like the rest of NATO, now simply depends upon America to police the world.

It's time for us to withdraw from NATO and the other NATO nations build up to defend themselves.

I put more blame on the French for not stopping Hitler in 1936 from marching into the Rhineland. That’s when Hitler knew that Britain and France didn’t have the stomach to stop him.
