At least five people were killed after Iran retaliated Saturday against “Operation Epic Fury” by firing ballistic missiles at nine countries, including a US Navy base in Bahrain.

The UAE military boasted of intercepting three waves of ballistic missiles from Tehran. Debris from one of the waves intercepted by the UAE Air Defence system fell on several areas in Abu Dhabi, the country’s Ministry of Defence.announced on X.

A “worker of Asian nationality” was killed in one of the strikes in residential areas of Abu Dhabi, according to the Ministry of Defense. The UAE stated it “reserves the right to respond” to the Iranian strikes. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs further condemned the attack which they deemed a “flagrant violation” of national sovereignty, according to a statement shared to X.

The statement noted that Qatar has been the “among the foremost advocates of dialogue with the Islamic Republic of Iran.” The Kuwait Ministry of Defense announced that they had successfully intercepted “a number of ballistic missiles” that were launched on Ali Al-Salem Air Base, according to Stars and Stripes . That base hosts both American and other international forces — with the attack causing extensive damage to the runway, according to that report. The Kingdom of Jordan also reportedly downed two missiles, Reuters reported. Syria was also targeted in the bombing campaign, with missiles killing four people in the town of Sweida, according to reports. Erbil International Airport in Iraq, which is used by the US military, was also targeted with ballistic missiles, according to officials. The US and Israeli daylight attack, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” came in response to the Iranian regime refusing to agree to a deal that would dismantle its nuclear program. President Trump said he was determined to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power and would use the might of the US military to stop the regime. “We will ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon. It’s a very simple message.
