Members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) stormed Guadalajara International Airport on Sunday in apparent retaliation for the death of their notorious leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes.
The attack has led to widespread panic, with videos showing passengers and airport staff fleeing for cover amid reports of gunfire and armed confrontations.
The violence comes just hours after Mexican authorities confirmed El Mencho’s elimination in a targeted operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, reportedly conducted with U.S. assistance.

Guadalajara is one of Mexico’s busiest airports.
Eyewitness videos captured scenes of terror.
One clip, shared by investigative journalist Laura Loomer on X, shows airport workers in high-visibility vests and passengers running from what appears to be an underground or tarmac area.
“After the US eliminated a top Cartel leader in Mexico today, Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) has retaliated by storming the Guadalajara Airport with armed gunmen. They are now taking American tourists hostage at nearby highways and hotels,” Loomer wrote.

American hostages? That is an interesting way to have Mexico invaded and pounded to hell.
I wonder if the cartels think they are ready and able.

If that is verified it should end some of the restraints Trump has exercised about Third World situations.
He doesn't need to hold back except to preserve the hostages' lives.
Lots of Americans vacation in Mexico because of the supposedly secure resorts. My son honeymooned in Cabo a couple years ago, and my sister and her husband just returned. Me, I think it’s nuts for Americans to travel to Mexico at all
Oh, no they di’int!
They are just justifying the actions against them by doing this.
So I should insist on flight and hotel deals before booking?
I feel the same way. Down there, as an American, you are simply a target waiting to happen.
Yes. If caught in a crossfire, lie low.
Reported here, too.
Second report I herd of the cartel taking US hostages but nothing on Fox News about this.
The guy had a lot of cool names. Nemesio or Nemesis a “worthy opponent”, Seguera is like segue or sigue next in line, and Cervantes, someone who makes beer? I read that Mencho means something like rude or crude but for him it probably means The Brute or The Thug.
Fox News seems to take Sundays off.
We have friends/family who frequently vacation in Mexico ... PV, Cabo, etc.
We’re with you ... we think it’s nuts for Americans to travel there, at all.
Is the whole idea to save a few bucks? After all, the United States has pretty much any kind of tourist destination that you could ask for.
