Europe faces parallel challenges that policymakers have yet to connect: a pressing military recruitment shortage and an ongoing migration challenge. While politicians wring their hands over both issues separately, an opportunity has been hiding in plain sight. European countries should create a pathway to citizenship for immigrants willing to serve in their armed forces.
Europe’s manpower crisis is real. According to recent defense reporting, in 2025 Germany’s Bundeswehr saw recruiting continue to fall behind targets, despite recruitment campaigns. The United Kingdom continues to fall short of its annual recruitment goal, with more service members leaving than joining. France, Italy, and the Netherlands all face similar shortfalls, with more than 20 percent of professional soldier positions remaining unfilled across many European militaries.

Hosw do you spell “D R A F T”?
The Muslims are not going to Europe for warfare. They want Welfare. They will always have one thought in mind. Taking over the country, not defending it.
Handing over Euro weapons to their age old enemies, the Muslims.
Should work out. What could go wrong?
“..They will always have one thought in mind. Taking over the country, not defending it....”
Their past historical track record certainly confirms the ^ABOVE^.
This is like hopng a den of foxes will guard the hen house.
Putting your potential enemy in your army, what could go wrong?
So some guy named Adham Sahlou wants to populate European armies with immigrants, many of whom have zero desire to assimilate.
I find that interesting. Particularly because Adham is an Arabic name.
As a side note, I looked this guy up. Mr Sahlou worked for Joe Biden. And before that he worked for Pete Buttigieg. Quite a resume there!
That is pathetic. If their people don’t want to reproduce and the only way to defend yourself is to import people, then why are you a national at all? Just hand over your country to those people who WILL reproduce.
Bringing in outsiders who do not share your belief system, who will not assimilate and who come to conquer you is stupid. Thinking those people will defend you is beyond stupid.
Worked for Rome.
It’s quite a clever ruse - using patriotic rhetoric as cover for promoting a mass influx of Third World peoples, which is in fact that most unpatriotic thing imaginable. “We need them to fight our wars” is just a variation on “they do the work we won’t do.”
Ya , muslims the laziest group on the planet
Didn’t the original Britons try something like that, and that’s how they wound up with the Saxons?
One of the reasons Rome fell: trusting their defense to mercenaries.
I think the Muslims will join the military of European Nations, except they won’t be fighting foreign adversaries, they will be fighting the natives of the country.
For reasons I can’t understand, the leaders of the EU hate their native populations, what better way to deal with them than to import and train a foreign army to go against your internal populations.
Given how he’s governed, do you think for one second Kier Starmer wouldn’t sick the UK military on what he perceives as the biggest threat to the UK as he calls them Caucasian Rightwing Christians.
It sure didn’t work out for Austria-Hungary in WWI.
I think the Muslims will join the military of European Nations, except they won’t be fighting foreign adversaries, they will be fighting the natives of the country.
How many white soldiers did the white countries produce for WWI and WWII, and out of small populations.
How about the huge militaries of large armies, Air Forces, and Navies, all of these same countries were manning and maintaining only 35 and 40 years ago.
Something changed and it wasn’t a reduction of white male populations.
Who are the Britons?
Didn’t Canada announce the same thing , they must have the same Stupid advisers ,LOL
