I’ve often wondered if police cars could be fitted with a highly focused EMP device to disable a car being followed in a chase. A quick pulse would zap the computer and kill the engine. IT would have be super shielded so as not to zap the police car at the same time.
The baddies wouldn’t know what hit ‘em!
Maybe this is what they used for the k@rtel drones, in ELP.
Zzzzzapp!
Good question.
So 4 honeybees are considered a swarm. How many make a pattern?
Maybe we could use a few at the border.
Excellent idea.
Exactly.
Definitely.
Most likely.
Sounds like they wanted to test something like this on Mexican cartel drones near El paso, thus shutting down the airport. I guess they changed their plans.
Probably. The EMP messes with the onboard electronics and not just the wireless communication which is what jamming does. However hardening the electronics with 99 cents of tinfoil wrapping will be the fiber optic equivalent to defeat this.
Bkmk
If we are watching this video now, it means the Chinese are already working on counter-measures.
Brilliant! No government agent or public servant would EVER abuse that ...
4 drones is hardly a swarm but it looks good. Hard to have a swarm with fiber optic tethers.
Will it work with fiber optic tethered drones?>>>. Probably not. but it’d be hard to have a swarm of them all connected.
I’d like to see a swarm with tethered drones.
“Will it work with fiber optic tethered drones?”
For naval defense, this weapon should work well. Fiber optics would rarely be long enough to get the drone out to a carrier group.
Max reported use in combat is around 25 miles by Ukraine.
If we were fighting a ground war — heaven forbid — it’s more of an issue.
