Sanctuary cities are "sanctuaries for criminals" who endanger communities, President Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, said Thursday morning in his first press conference after arriving in Minneapolis.
Homan said he was deployed to Minnesota earlier this week to help restore law and order and remove dangerous criminal illegal aliens from local communities.
He made clear his focus is public safety — not politics or headlines.
"I didn't come to Minnesota for photo ops or headlines," Homan told reporters. "I came here to seek solutions."
Homan said more than 10 million illegal aliens entered the country under the Biden administration, including millions of "gotaways" who evaded authorities.
Many, he warned, pose national security and public safety threats.
Trump, he said, promised voters he would reverse those failures and prioritize the safety of American communities.
The border czar said he has spent the past several days meeting with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey — all Democrats — as well as law enforcement leaders and others.
One key area of agreement, Homan noted, was that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a legitimate law enforcement agency with a duty to enforce federal law.

How I would love to hear the fly-on-the-wall reports of those meetings!

My God! The generosity and big heartedness of the Democrat leaders. They agreed that the sky is blue!!
Until, of course, DJT says it is blue. In which case, the D’s will scream, kick their legs, and hold their breaths until everyone pretends it is taupe.
I just don’t know why we didn’t spend all of the past year battering Democrats over the issue of crime and making people automatically associate that party (previously of “defund the police” fame) with support for criminals. The Dems have been continually obstructing the removal of criminals who have no right to be here, as they have also been pushing soft-on-crime measures and fighting against Trump’s crime crackdowns. They have also shown sympathy for drug cartels and Islamic terrorists.
How in the world with a record like this are the Democrats not automatically associated with criminals? We should have been hammering home from day one that the Democrats are the “pro-criminal” or “criminal-loving” party, just as hard and just as non-stop as they slander us as being “fascists.” If people think “crooked” when they hear “Hillary” or “sleepy” when they hear “Joe Biden,” then they should think “criminals” when they hear “Democrats.”
This should have been a winning issue for us, but we allowed them to control the narrative outside of conservative media and certain specific places online. We need to really go harder on the messaging fight against the criminal-loving Democrats.

They are so by definition, since illegal immigrants are by definition criminals regardless of what they do or don't do once they get there, and cities that offer them sanctuary are guilty of sheltering fugitives.
Democrats only care about votes and power. Taxpayers are last on their list of caring for a Democrat. If you are useful for their Socialist Agenda, they want to take care of you, even if you happen to be a criminal.
So where and when are all these promised arrests taking place?
Best question of the year by Tom Homan during his presser: The Biden admin let people come here gave them plane tickets to anywhere they wanted, free hotels, meals and job vouchers and there were 2 million gat aways. People that refused those freebies. Why? That should scare the hell out of you.
Sanctuary cities are operating bases for revolutionaries.
Amazing — and disturbing — that they even had to confirm a mutual understanding if ICE’s proper function. Sounds almost like a sanity test, and Walz-Frey passed!
