He’s doing a great job and showing what real journalism is about. Unfortunately, the reality is that the consequences of this exposure will be minimal. As he will quickly learn, this country is very uncomfortable with the concept of imposing meaningful accountability and punishment for waste, fraud and abuse.
Didn’t you hear? The state investigated and found the daycares operating as expected. No fraud found.
The federal investigations and hearings won’t be much different. Just a lot louder.

Well said. Fraud in HHS and other agencies is large. We don’t seem to care unless we can blame it on the Somalis. Who cares that Indian immigrants and Blue Blood US Citizens are committing just as much fraud?
Example: Deloitte IES in 25 states, mostly the big states, not MN, is responsible for a lot more Fraud than the Somali.
Maybe if we focus that there are so many H1b we will care and not that the fraud is massive and across many types of citizens and non-citizens.
Bessent just said that 10% of the U.S. budget is lost to fraud but it will be forgotten in the next news cycle.

Under Obama many welfare programs changed. They were 90% or X% Federally funded with states funding a small part and states administering the programs.
Deloitte wrote the IES Integration Eligibility System to determine who is eligible for food stamps, EBT, SNAP, WIC, TANF, Sec8, CHPS, Medicaid, etc. as one massive computerized system. All this while Obama was running things. When IES was still in development the FRAUD was highlighted. The GA Dept of Community Health that runs Medicaid and whose budget was funding IES pointed out the FRAUD. He retired from DCH and came back as a consultant to GA DHS Dept of Human Services which had the contract with Deloitte to fix the IES SYSTEM. In a fight in the SWAMP Deloitte won and kept the FRAUD.
This is common knowledge in the IT departments of the 25 states with IES. But it is also common knowledge that Deloitte is more skilled in the SWAMP than the state IT employees. This is not a right vs left issue. It is good government vs criminal enterprise. For example, Left leaning KFF Kaiser Family Foundation is one of the prominent critics of Deloitte.
The question is whether RFK and Dr OZ and HHS and CMS and DOGE will go after this FRAUD.
The question which I believe is more important is: No one should be immune from prosecution for fraud.
Just because you are Muslim or Somali or black or a woman, you should not be immune from prosecution for fraud.
White men are already demonized.
