With the approach of Israeli parliamentary elections next year, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett appears to be the biggest threat to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remaining in office, according to opinion polls. Bennett, the son of American immigrants from San Francisco, was prime minister for a year – June 2021 to June 2022…
Make no mistake. Bennett is as right-wing as Netanyahu. His last term as prime minister was as leader of the New Right party, and he’s the former director of the Yesha Council of West Bank Jewish settlements…
Bennett and most of the country’s Jewish political leadership are disassociating themselves from the United Arab List, saying that they would form a coalition government of only Zionist parties. They clearly believe that in the current climate, it would hurt them at the polls to leave open the prospect of the United Arab List in government. Overlooked is the fact that one of the ultra-Orthodox factions in the current government, United Torah Judaism, is non-Zionist in its ideology, opposing Israel’s establishment as a secular Jewish state…
Much depends upon the number of seats that the anti-Netanyahu bloc of parties gets in the next Knesset. In Israel’s proportional representation system, no single party ever gets close to having a majority of the seats in parliament and every government is a coalition of parties.

Anytime that I see were here someone in the news media calling a politician, right wing, I know for absolute certain that they are left-wing. As such, I can discount about 90% of what they say. This article is no exception. The fact that Bennett’s parents are San Francisco Jews says enough right there about his true political proclivities.
