GOP Rep. Jim Baird, Wife Hospitalized After Car Crash

Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Baird has been hospitalized following a car accident but is responsive and in stable condition, according to reports.

Baird’s wife, Danise, was also reportedly in the car at the time of the accident and was hospitalized along with her husband. The lawmaker, 80, has represented the solidly Republican Indiana’s 4th congressional district since 2019.

President Donald Trump said in a Tuesday morning speech to a GOP retreat at the Kennedy Center that he wanted to “send our best wishes to Congressman Jim Baird and his wife, who are recovering from a car accident.”

“They’re going to be OK but they had a pretty bad accident. And we’re praying that they get out of that hospital very quickly. He’s going to be fine, she’s going to be fine, but it was a bad accident,” the president added.

Further details of the car accident, which was first reported by Fox News, and the extent of his injuries are unclear.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.

Beginning to have the same odour as all those Russians “accidentally” falling from tall buildings in the last few years...

So, one guy died today. This one is in a car crash. MTG is out.

So, what is the voting majority today? 1? 2?

There are rumors, but no “news service” has any story. Usually an accident with bodily harm is covered, even in a local paper. If the name was on a police report, it would be public record.

I am going with, “His wife is fine.”

'Kay Granger (R-TX) retired from Congress Oct 2023.'

Didn't happen. She announced she wouldn't run in 2024. So she stayed in Congress[Retired jan 2025] and lived in a senior living facility in Texas while as a congress critter. She got to do nothing and made a salary. Nothing more fraudster as that while Johnson ok it. Jokes always on us. R's and D's are corrupt and hate America.

I posted this in February 2024:

The issue is the double-standard of declining to indict Democrats for the same thing they indicted Republicans for. Examples are the treatment of Paul Manafort (registered foreign agent), Steve Bannon (contempt of Congress), and Peter Navarro (contempt of Congress) versus Eric Holder (contempt of Congress) and Hunter Biden (registered foreign agent). Look at Jamaal Bowman (obstructing an official procedure) versus George Santos (lying during a campaign???) and J6 trespasser (obstructing an official procedure).

In the case of House Representatives, again it's about power. Democrats have been trying to whittle down the Republican 4-seat lead using procedural tricks while defending their own seats for similar transgressions. They support the ouster of McCarthy and Santos while protecting Omar, Bush and Bowman. It's just how they roll.

Maybe the desperate Democrats have moved beyond "procedural tricks" to dirtier tricks?
