Despite detailed photographic evidence to the contrary, many liberals continue to assert that the Venezuelan boats recently destroyed by the U.S. Navy are merely fishing, not drug, boats. The Associated Press has jumped into the fray and in a roundabout "nuanced" way admitted that the destroyed boats are indeed drug boats. The "nuance" comes in via the AP asserting that among the crews of the drug boats, some worked mostly as fishermen or other low paying jobs with drug smuggling only as a side gig to boost their income.
The AP reluctantly made the 'nuanced' admission that the destroyed boats were drug boats on Friday with this report by Reginia Garcia Cano, "Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced."

The boats were manned by “mostly” fishermen. And Vito Corleone was mostly an olive oil importer.

When one of the ass hole AP “journalists” kids die from an OD, will they nuance that?
Part time massive drug smugglers!
The gist of the “nuance” is that, yes these were drug running boats owned by narco-terrorists, but some of the crew were just doing it as a side gig, because they’re poor and needed the money. Some of these part time drug smugglers even work as fisherman when they’re not crewing on board drug running boats. Are you feeling sorry for them yet? Me neither.
Pays better than mackerel.
Ah. So, basically, they were the equivalent of Uber drivers.
The way it works in drug production countries is “plomo o plata” lead or silver. These cartel leaders are no piloting the drug boats. We know who they are.... send the military after the heads of the snakes.
Fishing boats with Maryland fathers on them.
Yeah, I don’t know, man, I’m not a fisherman but it seems to that fishing with your four 250hp Mercury engines wide open would kind of just rip the lips off the fish. But, I’m mo Bill Dance so I could be wrong. 🤷
The new definition for Venezuela drug boats, will from hereon be ‘nuanced boats’.
We could extend that definition to people dealing in the illegal drug trafficking. Those importing illegal drugs into the U.S., will be ‘nuanced people’
I think all AP employees should head down to Venezuela and get on the boats that are headed here to the U.S. You know, for research purposes.
The AP is controlled by communists and is a propaganda platform.
Apparently we’re supposed to feel sorry for the pirates — like w were told to do in Somalia — and we should invite hundreds of thousands of them to Minneapolis.
AP reporters should go an act as human shields for these poor beleaguered fishermen/drug runners.
Why send in the military when you can plow them up with a predator drone from 30K feet in the air?
We must know where these guys are. Take the gloves off. Blow up their house. They will get the message.
The issue isn’t whether they were drug boats or not.
The criteria for attack was that intelligence showed that they were controlled by designated terrorist organizations (”DTO”s), like Tren De Aragua, and the modality of criminal operation is only politically relevant. Could also be human smuggling, gun running, jewelry, etc.
Note that in all cases the DoW noted that the boats were identified with Intel that they were in fact part of a DTO operation, not some campesinos just trying to get extra cash for tortillas.
