......”Approximately 42,000 Canadians were killed and around 55,000 were wounded during World War II, with over 1.1 million Canadians serving in the military throughout the conflict. The war significantly impacted Canada, involving combat in various theaters, including Italy and Northwestern Europe.”
no one can ignore the bravery of the Canadian forces who fought and died in WWII.... it is sad that today’s Canadian Armed Forces appear to be but a mere shadow of what it used to be....I’m thinking especially of the brave Canadians who flew and died in the service of the British Royal Air Force....
They don’t even have Hap Shaughnessy who as a Canadian soldier got the US congressional Medal of Honor from Bernard Montgomery on some Christmas Day during the Second World War.
I knew a guy who actually said similar stuff and probably believed himself.
He was 5 foot 6, morbidly obese, mostly bald, and had a red beard.
In his mind he led Israeli commandos and met Golda Meir among other things.
Harmless but sad.
Bring back the Vandoos!
