At some point war will be absurd in the limit. Probably when all that happens is machines destroy other machines. At that point, what’s the point?
We’re going to need a lot to counter the volume of Chinese missiles. Hopefully, the drone swarms will hit both mobile and stationary missile sites prior to a full on strike.
At that point, what’s the point?
~~~
The drone on drone action will primarily be for air superiority or operational control of airspace in order to enable the air to infrastructure and air to human targeting.
Don’t get caught up on the fact that a lot of hardware will be unmanned. It’s still war for all the same old reasons. Power/wealth and territory.
You forgot the target deployment date. Which will likely be missed. 🤔💰🛫🛬
“Power/wealth and territory.”
You left out ideology. I think most wars are actually about ideology
You've asked this or something like it several times in the last days, while promoting the site's articles. The simple answer is no.
Humans will then be “wiped out” figuratively, on paper (or chip), then the real alive versions will be ordered to report to the disintegrators to finish the task, per international treaty of course.
How does that matter when human reaction time is measured in tenths of a second?
At the risk of sounding like a 60s hippie, what's the point of war in the first place?
WAR!
Hoo!
What is it good for?
Ab-so-lutely nuthin'!
Say it again!
:)
Ideologies seeking to exert power over others, and take their wealth and territory. Same thing.
Personally, I think ideology is the excuse.
This was what I took away from watching some documentaries on both Stalin and Mao.
I believe they both adopted the systems because they lent themselves to getting as close to absolute power as possible. The war and terror and genocide were the tactics while the ideologies were the systems that manifested strategies, but those ideologies weren’t the point. Power was.
Keeping in mind that drones will be getting smarter and smarter in the early stages of A.I., why is a manned aircraft needed to “quarterback” them? The concept sounds like an expensive and very complicated way to justify continuing to prioritize manned aircraft
My question is has some moron that worked on it given the chicoms the design parameters?
Good question. When you're flying a fighter jet close to the deck, your brain is only now seeing things that are already behind you.
To some extent, yes. But Stalin and Mao were also sipping the Kool Aid of ideology. That’s what’s so frightening. These guys, and Hitler and all the whack-a- doodles, really believe that stuff. Unlike Napoleon and perhaps the Roman emperors, who were more focused on pure power.
Stalin basically went against everything Lenin believed in. He was a Russian Nationalist, despite his Georgian background. He uprooted populations to accomodate Russians. He demanded Russian be the first language of every Soviet Citizen.
The drones themselves should be able to recognize allied drones and enemy targets worth taking out.
These drones don’t need and shouldn’t depend on an F-47 nanny.
Small, cheap, plentiful and resilient are key requirements going forward.
A stealth drone carrier can carry the drones near to the target. The drones can then be launched and go about their business.
The drones can be controlled via small, phased array antennas like Starlink (and possibly via a missile launched to be a safe distance over the target about the same time as the drones).
.
And they have yet to launch something off one of their carriers.
US have well develped steam launchers
The Chicoms have a nuclear powered carrier....and rely on electric launcher
The electric launcher is good for a rail gun....but an aircraft...not so much
Thats why the chicoms have blocked off their launcher mechanism,
