There’s a big difference between being attracted to the same sex (which in and of itself is disordered), and believing you’re something you are not. When you believe you’re something you’re not, that’s a pretty serious mental disorder.
How did he get the guns? Mentally ill people should not be getting guns. Instead of humoring his delusions about being female, he should have been committed.
